Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did

grabme,

Have you tried running the V-Synth VC-1 in 'D50' mode as opposed to 'V-synth'? Supposedly that will make the character indistinguishable from an original D50. Unfortunately I no longer have my D50 to do a side by side comparison, but it's supposed to nail it perfectly.

What I've seen of the hardware Solaris looks very similar to John's version for Scope (and that's a good thing!). I wonder if polyphony will be determined by how 'heavy' a particular patch is. Carbon's description of each patch being a 'multi' is exactly the way I would describe the Scope version. Y...

Looks like electroplankton for the nintendo DS.
Funny, I thought the same exact thing. Looks like a nice toy, but that's about it.

Or am I wrong? The whole Creamware rollercoaster has gotten a bit too confusing for me.

The A-108 will serve you well as a good all around filter. The Livewire Frequensteiner would be a great second filter to have. I love its overdriven sound!

caring which is better vs writing good music Owners of the softsynths tend to 'care which is better instead of writing good music'. Owners of hardware may not write good music either but they somehow tend to not 'care which is better'. The implication from these two statements makes it clear which ...

It's top notch stuff. I own a Pulsar 2 card as well as a Noah EX. The VA's are, in my opinion, second to none. The disadvantage I see to their Klangbox synths is the lack of knobs for parameter changes. You mentioned wanting rack type stuff, but if you're open to it, I'd suggest going with one of th...

Korg DW6000 Another s**t sandwich, but this one's a foot-long with the works. Terrible sounding. Thin. I honestly thought it was broken the first time I played it, the bass end is so weak.

It's actually planetz.com You wouldn't want to end up at some gardening website.

The Zebra V2 looks over-complicated..the interface looks "cool" indeed, but I fear it'll be like the Absynth, looks cool but I can't for the life of me figure out how I produce 3 simple sawtooth waves on it. Download the demo, it's actually quite easy to use. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised....
