Re: Beginner questions
VA is just a label suggesting the softsynth somehow emulates an analog synth. It doesn't necessarily impart any magic difference. Some softsynth designers choose not to saddle their designs with a preconception that they are trying to emulate something analog. In any case, there is nothing analog ab...

Re: I need your input. Possibly stolen SH-7
For what it's worth, a friend of mine that played bass in my band many moons ago had a very distinctive (painted neck) vintage Tele bass stolen at a show about 12 or 13 years ago. He filed a police report at the time but nothing ever came of it. Fast forward to a couple years ago. He was walking aro...

Re: Ruined???
I had a Casio CTK-1000 that I got new and had against the wall in front of a window. It was during the winter and there was some ice damming or something which caused water to run down inside the window and collect inside the molded plastic bottom of the synth. And there was plenty of it..at least a...

Re: Microkorg XL
Considering the volume of of contentious banter the MicroKorg stirs up it would be a good target for a hoax if the goal was to watch the synth community's reaction.OriginalJambo wrote:I dunno - do you seriously think someone would go out their way to make a fake KORG look that good?

Re: Korg MS2000 vs Analog options
A lot of that is what attracted me to the Korg MS2K in the first place, and yet.... I have had the experience of getting the instrument that can "do it all" only to find it's the one-trick pony whose sound does it for me. Hard to put into words I guess. Nope, you did a great job of putting it into ...

Re: Microkorg XL
I still think it's FAKE. Where are these promo blurb/spec sheets folks are quoting coming from? As noted elsewhere in this thread the UI makes very little sense. It doesn't indicate more features and in fact has fewer controls. There's just too much about this that looks suspicious. I'll believe it'...

Re: anyone ever split an A-frame stand into a corner?
What about taking the supports that used to be in the rear and swapping them around to the front on the outside ends? That would help with the tendency to pitch forward provided you could attach them in some manner where you didnt have to lean the ends inwards, (which isn't possible in the L configu...

Re: Korg MS2000 vs Analog options
Just to muddy the waters, you might put an Alesis Ion in your mix for synths to consider. Based on what you say you're looking for and the price range you're after, the Ion would likely be a very good choice. It always raises people's hackles, but I truly don't think a lot of people who are relative...

Re: FL Sytrus, how unique!
It's also extremely CPU-hungry, though some of the presets sound pretty decent. I got in on a group buy for it a while back but haven't played with it too extensively.

As far as I know it doesn't work on anything newer than Windows 98, either. Retro AS-1 was my first soft synth, long, long ago.

Re: virus ti midi and usb
my question was that if midex 8 has usb then i dont have to connect my virus thru usb. Yes, you would still have to connect the Virus TI to the computer directly with USB. The USB function of the Virus isn't going to transfer through your Midiex via MIDI. What's important is the type of data being ...
