most flexible Realistic® drum machine

I'm looking to find a Realistic branded (Radio Shack/Casio) drum machine. I'm having a hard time even finding a place to look to get information on such a thing. If a drum machine doesn't exist, one of the keyboards with built-in drums could suffice.... but it would be nice to have something with so...

Re: Yamaha CS-01

I love my cs01. wish i hadn't sold the white one i had to smallsynth, but did i really need 2? i think it sounds good midrange. bass is really low audibly on mine, and the high stuff gets kinda dirty. maybe i just need to clean it. anyway, the manual says its a vco. then again, so does the synth. i...

Re: 3 new demos. would love feedback

i liked the noisy one best, but think my mind wanted more structure. like a pop-noise song. but that's just me. good sounds in that one.

inexpensive interfaces for my laptop

i am looking into buying my first "interface" to work with my laptop. it is a cheap laptop, and plugging in audio stuff directly (with adapters when necessary) has previous sufficed. but i thought i might want a little more control options for recording and live playback, and so am looking for an in...

Re: Cutting through the mix. (JX 3P, M-VS1, Jupier 6)

good suggestions so far.... thanks much,. i used a carvin 1015 amp (1000W solid state). the amp seems to be capable, as other boards do cut through, and i've used this amp for a few years now. well, maybe a tube amp would cut through better, but i'm not sure i want to mess with that right now. i thi...

Cutting through the mix. (JX 3P, M-VS1, Jupier 6)

Some synthesizers cut through the mix, and others don't. I've yet to figure out entirely what causes this, but it is pretty obvious which type of board you are dealing with once you get it in the band practice room. Unfortunately, I cannot really tell this when playing a board by itself. I had been ...

Re: Gnat or Wasp.... anyone open one up?

i bought my gnat years ago from a guy who used to frequent vse. it came from england in a tiny box with one layer of that little bubble wrap under it and one layer over it. i couldn't believe it worked. but it did, and i love it. not only is it a, uh, small synth, but unlike the eh400 it is flexible...

Re: FREE ALBUM - "Bartesho" - CS-80

hmmm .... just downloaded and wouldn't play in my WMP... maybe it's too outdated. i used vintage mp3 players for vintage synth tracks... but that could turn out to be problematic.

Re: Bitchin RS7000 Sounds

i'm contractually obligated to listen to any track described as bitchin, . that was interesting. i like. i'm not sure how much of a purist you are, but i'd love to hear some, i don't know, suicide-like vox over that. or something. but i love that the sounds are so interesting. -geoffrey smallsynth
