Re: Cleaning a Juno 106 (HS-60)

It all depends on how much time you feel like spending on it. I'd be tempted to leave or replace the speakers as it will keep it as it should be. The foam gasket above the slide pots, between the PCBs and underside of the fascia should probably be replaced but you need to be careful what you replace...

Re: Sequencing a Moog Prodigy w/ Arturia and Kenton Pro-Solo

Hang on a sec, I misread the OP- he/she is planning to trigger the Moog from the Pro Solo, not the Arturia. Pro Solo has S-trig built in! RTFM... Ah yes so it does. I misread the post too. Assuming the Prodigy doesn't have the old cynch-jones connector for gate, it shouldn't be a problem. If it doe...

Re: Sequencing a Moog Prodigy w/ Arturia and Kenton Pro-Solo

Old Moogs (inc the Prodigy) use S-trig not V-trig gate signals.

You need to buy or make a convertor.

Re: Arturia and their ‘throw away’ approach to hardware

Cheap stuff like Arturia isn't really made with field serviceability in mind... Not knowing their own part numbers is ridiculous, though  Cheers :drinks: Some of their controller/software packages are £675. Update: Not sure if it has anything to do with this thread but I've just received an em...

Re: Arturia and their ‘throw away’ approach to hardware

Not sure what your point is. If Arturia choose not to stock spare parts then surely they could give customers a part number/manufacturer so they can source the parts themselves/locally? To do that of course would require a parts list/B.O.M. which they don't seem to have. They seem to be outsourcing ...

Re: Arturia and their ‘throw away’ approach to hardware

I've had great dealings with most major manufacturer's (DSI, Korg, Nord, Novation, Access ...all great). Alesis and Elektron support is poor in the UK but Arturia's blatant unwillingness to help is bloody annoying.

Never again.

Arturia and their ‘throw away’ approach to hardware

Contacted Arturia this week to try and get a few replacement encoders for my old minilab and was told… “I am very sorry, but we do not send out spare parts for the MINILab as it is more expensive (the shipping+cost of the spare part) than to buy a new unit. “ To which I replied.., “I can get a tech ...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

GOOSE68 - The perfect trading partner. Bought my Pro-one. The deal couldn't have gone better from start to finish. The guy is a genuine synth enthusiast. Great communication throughout and immediate payment. An absolute pleasure, thanks Simon.

Re: Using Paypal on the forum

Don't be under the illusion that paypal will look after you if you get shafted. I lost £500 in an ebay transaction 2 years ago. When paypal had finally completed their inefficient and laborious investigation, all they recovered was what was left in his account (£70) as he’d spent most of it while th...

Re: Moog Rogue - Tackling the foam

Thanks, I really like the Rogue. I've always thought it would be a bit too limited. Having owned Prodigy/s in the past, it seemed even more 'stripped down' but the contour sync, pink noise and s/h are great. Tuning is also stable as a rock.

Re: Moog Rogue - Tackling the foam

I took them off as it wasn't too much hassle. You can buy proprietary plastic polish on ebay. It's excellent for removing fine scratches and and cleaning key tops. I've got some of this stuff: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GREYGATE-PLASTIC-POLISH-Bakelite-FREEPOST-UK-EU_W0QQitemZ120377979413QQihZ002QQcatego...

Re: Moog Rogue - Tackling the foam

The key tops were taken off and just washed in mild soapy water (rightly or wrongly). I only had 32 keys to do not 76!

Re: Moog Rogue - Tackling the foam

The stuff I used was a form of styrofoam. They use that in buildings and it's lifespan is comparable to that of the building.

I'll still keep an eye on it though :-)

Re: Moog Rogue - Tackling the foam

What's the foam, and where'd you get it? Might grab some. I used this stuff. It's quite high density and nothing seems to come off it i.e. into the sliders. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-x18-xl-sheet-2mm-craft-foam-DARK-CHOC-BROWN-60p_W0QQitemZ190288914891QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Crafts_Children_s_Crafts_E...
