Re: Oberheim OBMx repair
So, a few things worth mentioning. The voice cards have different revisions and you need to make sure they match up. Second, there was a lot of grabbing whatever was on the shelf when these machines were assembled. Pull your voice cards out and compare them component by component. Quality control su...

Re: Roland Expansion Card Patches & JV 880
Use the following procedure to load a single patch from an expansion board or SO-PCM Card in the JV-880 : Note: This will write over an Internal Patch in the JV-880. 1) Press UTILITY. 2) Turn the DATA dial to select Load Patch Single. 3) Cursor to the bottom left hand side and turn the DATA DIAL to ...

Re: Peavey Paradox Synth
We talked about this a few years back. I'm glad you still have it.
IIRC there were two different color schemes but maybe I'm mistaken.

Re: Waldorf XT Repair - Reputable shop?
It would help if you gave your location.
East coast US I'd recommend Retrolinear in Pennsylvania.

Re: How many hardware synths do you own?
I'm with Z and Mini with about 100+ synths, 7 drum machines, 10-20 misc controllers ( keyboards, sequencers, pressure strips, arpeggiators etc), 3 electro-acoustic pianos and a bunch of effects units and acoustic instruments. For the last 2 years I've been limiting my expenses to repairs and maintenan...

Re: EX-8000 parts
Didn't realize they weren't the same switch as the DW; Please post if you find a solution. I had rack ears made for this a few years back as mine didn't come with any and I couldn't source a set. Good luck !

Re: Additive synthesis anyone??
I still have a k5m; they go for under $100 these days. The K5000 was a better bet. Other hardware that does additive off the top of my head: Wersi EX-20, Kurzweil K150 ( always wanted one of these with the apple software ) K3m has two user slots to define a waveform.

Re: Roland Jupiter 8 and 8a
@synthroom. I couldn't tell you if is the last one but definitely at the end of the run. 3 more than my previous highest.Somewhere around the studio I have a list of Jup 8 serial numbers and all sorts of misc data about the synth. The idea was to build a website similar to the Rhodes Chroma site. ( ...

Re: Roland Jupiter 8 and 8a
So, I just checked my data base. DCB ports became standard on Jup 8 starting at serial $ 282880. For those who aren't aware, Roland's first 2 digits are a month/year from when Roland started and the last 4 digits are totals produced Caveat: The Jupiter 8 serial numbers started at 100 rather than 0. ...

Re: Roland Jupiter 8 and 8a
Roughly 3300+ if you're going by serial numbers. 8a was the last few hundred of the run, easiest way to find out almost exactly how many 8a's were produced is to look at the service manual. There's a few threads here and at gear slutz that tackles the serial number system used by Roland and the ofte...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
Just wanted to thank Event horizon services for their professionalism. I purchased XLR to midi cables for my Voyetra eight back in November. Didn't get a chance to try them out until recently and found out they were wired differently than I needed. Brandon responded quickly, helped to trouble shoot ...
