Re: Roland RE-201 Space Echo
Got one. It's cool but not as chaotic as I hoped. I guess it's wearing out. Cleaning it with alcohol and replacing the tape made it useable but still pretty quiet repeats.

Re: Instakit - generate MPC1000 kits from samples
I played with one of them in the past and had to manually assign the samples to the pads - do they do it automated now?
Anyways, adding SFZ support tonight so it works with sfortzando

Instakit - generate MPC1000 kits from samples
I have a large collection of drum machine samples and didn't really want to manually build up MPC1000 kits with the waves, so I wrote a little python app called instakit. It will look at your WAVEs and attempt to intelligently assign the pad # and MIDI note # to normalize the samples onto the pads I...

It's a pretty cool vintage synth, and can do big bass, but imho an arturia minibrute is much more synth for the price.

Re: iPad vs Android tablets
IMO the Android problems are twofold: lack of a unified low-latency audio standard, and lack of natively compiled applications. With the NDK you can write natively compiled code, my apps are written in C++ with just a java shim layer to set up the GL window. but still no unified ll audio standard? ...

Re: iPad vs Android tablets
I don't know for certain having not tried myself, but I have heard that the Android operating system has very high latency and that this is a hardware and not software problem (i.e can't be fixed with just an OS update). http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3434 . First reported in 200...

Re: iPad vs Android tablets
If you end up with an Android device, you should get an app I wrote called OSCPad. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.burnsmod.oscpad&hl=en It's.. a clone of TouchOSC. Even loads TouchOSC layouts directly. I also wrote one of the better DJ apps for Android: https://play.google.com/sto...

Re: get sh-32, lose microkorg?
I've found much more satisfaction when I stopped buying/selling $300 synths and started buying/selling $600 synths. blofeld or minibrute come to mind. fwiw.

I think what they're saying is it's not dirty enough for 'em. They want it dirtier.Stab Frenzy wrote:What about sucking on a guy's d**k, more gay or less?Alex E wrote:I completely agree.dzlvs8 wrote:I think playing Van Halen "Jump" on a synth is one of the gayest things you can do.

Re: Synth Tech near Toronto to fix SH101?
I'm in Ottawa and if it's just replacing a few chips I could do it for you. I am not a professional but I've debugged and revived a number of synths (dead opamp in a 707, dead gate in a dx7's clock circuit, etc) and built a number of synths(x0xb0x, tm3030, midibox SID, MFOS soundlab). I'd probably c...

Re: Considering a Blofeld Desktop
Another quick Q for Blofeld owners: the mod matrix has 16 slots, correct? Is there any limit to how many of those can be directed to the same destination? For example, if I wanted to apply envelope modulation to pitch but also wanted to use the mod wheel for vibrato, that kind of thing. I'm guessin...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Wife and family bought me one for my 30th birthday from moogaudio here in Canada. Should be here in two weeks:-) Hope it shows but I'm excited none the less. My heart stopped for a sec when I thought you were able to walk into the store and buy one (since I have a paid preorder with them and am wai...
