Re: Roland's greatest synth?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giRaOfnrhA0&feature=related Oh yeah the best synth Roland ever made??? THE TB-303 of course! ACID AIR RAID!!!!!! No really this is a pretty subjective question within a certain set of synths. I mean some might say the classic analogs (JP 8 etc) or the ROMplers. I've n...

Re: how do imagine VSE's members

DAMN THIS c**p IS FUNNY!!!!! Ok I feel better now. This is how we used to be 'back in the day' and it was what I loved about the place! I have nothing to contribute except that I once compared Mr Rich to Richard D. James looks wise...and did I ever get the s**t kicked out of me for that one! As you ...

What makes a hybrid? My Matrix 1000 has digital envelopes and LFOs. That be a hybrid to me! My MS2000 has DWGS waveforms and thinks it takes the analog stairs to work. That be a hybrid to me too!!

Let's see...

Fox Talas 32 RLC 720$
Intense 6.6 medium frame $2300...

Nice score. Limited or not. Opinionated or not. Congrats on the synth!

Now why don't we all just f**k off and make music, eh?

Dense and lush. Just the way I like it! Now all I need is a bike trail to ride through it all. Or maybe a nice little glen to sit in whilst I make electronic music with either the Jp4 or the Promars, eh? (a steam powered generator would be nice too!)

Re: Suspended MIDI Manufacturer IDs

Needless to say, some of these surprised me... The failure to pay could be for a lot of reasons besides not wanting to be a member of MIDI.org or not being interested in having a unique ID. I co-founded a couple of international standards organizations and sat on the boards of directors for...

First... I heard Vangelis' soundtrack for Blade Runner. That stayed with me for a few years. Then I heard real trance music and realized that it really did go way beyond cheese, and bad lyrics. Acid Trance, and Psy/Goa trance f**k rule. I listen to that stuff everywhere. It's the only thing in my iP...

Yeah it's not quite as powerful as some other VA's but it still melts faces. h**l yeah it does. You are going to love it man, trust me. Nothing, and I mean nothing, has succeeded in toppling the SUPERSAW as the greatest sound for trance , and for pads in general. The fact that you can select...

So this Centaur was what Friend turned into the Avatar then? Kludged a bunch of parts together along with guitar input circuits ad tried to sell several million dollars worth in a year's time? From what I read Pearlman pretty much got railroaded.

I have a UB2442FX and I like it well enough. Mine seems a bit noisy in the effects section though. The build quality is pretty cheap, but it sure does what I need it to do and it was cheap. I can't really complain. I wouldn't cut a record on it, but for my home studio it's fine.

People make too much of presets. They're there to show you what a synth can do. If you find a use for them then fine. There's no point in getting all elitist and saying that all presets suck because they're presets. Just shut up and play.
