Osc 2 & 3 on my Voyager are incorrectly keyscalled!!!

So, I just turned on my Voyager RME after months of not using it to find that oscillators 2 and 3 are NOT working properly anymore. I tried doing the OS update and, while that was successful, it did nothing to remedy my problem. Oscillator 2 is lining up with 1 at D#3 but is seems to play the octave...

Re: Applied Acoustic Systems VA-1 going cheap

I just bought it and everyone aware of this bargain should get it immediately. $15!?! So worth it. It sounds pretty unique and it's dead easy to use. I had a hard time navigating the NI synths in he beginning and I'm already getting some good sounds out of it...

Re: Whats beyond the DX7?

Are you all really so afraid of FM8? It's definitely easier to use and a MUCH more capable synth than any of these and it can do everything any DX/TX synch can do. I can't speak for the SY series but I'm sure there's some overlap there too. What's really cool about the FM8 is the ability to define d...

Re: What synth (s) you own but haven't played for over 1 year

Does a Roland MC-307 count? God I used to use that thing constantly and it's not even hooked up anymore. I can't bear to sell it though b/c I know it in and out.

Oh yeah and a Moog Voyager RME. Right after I got that I got a Mini so yeah... That actually hasn't been used in over 2 years.

Replacing Slider Caps

Has anyone ever been able to easily replace a knob or a cap. These things have got to be cheap and with the buying/selling of used gear these days cosmetic upgrades of most synths would seem to be in order. I'm currently looking for slider caps for my Octave Cat. Does anyone know where to get them o...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

Would be helpful if people said WHY they thought these synths are so bad. Agreed. I thought I was pretty in depth with my Supernova slam but I need to weigh in on the microkorg slam 2 posts back. I think that's a great little synth. The engine is SOOOOO easy to use and though layering is a b***h an...

Roland JV-880 Problem

Hi, I can't seem to get any output from my Roland JV-880. It looks fine. I've reset the internal sounds, parameters, and gone through all of the global menus but there is no output on this synth (no headphone, none of the separate outs). The only thing I haven't done yet is replace the internal batt...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

Yeah VERY trancey but not even very good at trance, just leaning that way and doing so poorly.

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

I'm sure alot of you will disagree but I really hated the Novation Supernova. The reason that thing has 7 internal effects or whatever is because otherwise each patch sounds exactly the same. I really wanted to like this synth but I found that the engine was thin and trying to be masked by intricate...

Re: Mono synth as Midi Contoller?

Yeah but for some reason the Prophecy's wheel with the ribbon on it solos the current track in logic, so I end up having to disconnect MIDI from the Prophecy when I perform automation.

Best Editor Librarian

I'm looking to organize all my sysex, MIDI files, and internal patches I have for my XTk, Prophecy, and microKorg. I basically want to be able to load all these patches without necessarily first loading them into their synths (although that is not the most important thing) and then be able to sort t...

Yeah, about that waxtrax/F242 article, do you know the issue number maybe (or at least range or issues or year).

Maybe it can be had as a back issue online somewhere.

Re: Micing Synths

I've done that a bit but nothing beats the real thing. I usually find that a good starting point but, say with Logic's Guitar Amp Pro, the tones are always pretty predictable. It can act as another filter but it doesn't give me that almost live feeling.

Re: Micing Synths

Well. I've just started screwing around with it and gotten amazing results. I have found it can take even a crappy part are make it sound important and deliberate. I'm using a Peavey tube amp, which while not glamorous, is sounding amazing on my parts. Best of all it was free. :) Another band I know...
