In few words, what I know is that DP is moe intended to work with MIDI and with thime the audio functions and capabilities were incluided in the late 90's. Protools, were the oposite way, Was Audio the main feature and later Digidesign incorporate MIDI and VSt etc etc Both are great softwares, i use...

Im not so good handling Audio (editing) on Live, Im very good un Cubase cut paste, edit etc. Im still learning Ableton,

MIDI options are better on Cubase I agree, (More pro) for Musicians

I do dance music (progressive and Electro mainly) I love to do doubles and pan them. Shakers and Claps, i do pretty much the same that redchapterjubilee
does. (doubletracking)

yeah maybe is a emulator or some early ensoniq, or akai, well, for example Stock Aitken Waterman always use Linndrums and the credits apperas, Drums : A LINN LOL
