Re: Yamaha CS-30L and Roland SH-2
A good review above! I would personally add that their thinking baffles me too. One would expect that the CS30 would have all the functions and more than it's younger sibblings had? I suspect this was a marketing plow more than anything else. Anyway. The CS30 has always confused the h**l out of me a...

Re: Yamaha CS-5 Rules!
I have a CS10, two CS15s and a CS30. Could never seem to get my hands on a CS5! Wanted one forever but seem to be pretty rare. At least here in Japan. I will always have my CS and MS collection...they are keepers.
Enjoy your CS5 dude!

Re: Can an electronics engineer do the work of a synth tech?
(
) I have a CS30 that needs work done. Maybe I will let him try his hand at that first. Surely he could fix that!

Re: Can an electronics engineer do the work of a synth tech?
i would have to not go with that as in my own experiance i have found people that fix old tvs and videos tend to be more "old School" and componet level competent at this sort of thing. That's what I was thinking. The old guy I saw looks like he has been around since before all the modern stuff and...

Re: Can an electronics engineer do the work of a synth tech?
I hear bad things about Five-G, so maybe avoid them. You probably wouldn't be far wrong there mate. there are others that are worse! I phoned one shop to do some business with. Agreed over the phone the deal and carried a Polivox all the way to the shop (Let's just say two hours away and a lot of c...

Re: Can an electronics engineer do the work of a synth tech?
Thanks guys. Some good advice given here and glad to know it wasn't such a noob question. Here's how I was thinking of pulling this off: There are stacks of these repair shops and a quick look in the window told me that these guys like to strip things down. though whether they can put it all back to...

Can an electronics engineer do the work of a synth tech?
May sound like a stupid question to some but my pride and joy Oddy has died on me. It powers up but produces zilch in the way of sounds. No odd smells to speak of. I have issues with the tech I used before. (gave him a lot of work over the years and he still chose to rip me off...never again!) There...

Re: Guess the synths (now with alternative answers added)
I am absolutely c**p at "Guess the synth" quizzes....even with the clues. My question to you Micke is this: How would you rate yourself with this type of quizz had another member posted it? I think I speak for everyone who respects your knowledge with relation to composers, film scores and which syn...

Re: MS-10 or SH-101?
Owned both.... many times. The SH101' seq/arp is very addictive. Much fun to be had!! However...for me the MS10 wins. Classic "hands on" design. Wont go on about it's sonic capabilities as it has none. (oh s**t.....did I just say that?) It does what it does... and does it well. Great lead and bass. ...
