Re: Analog delay pedal recommendation.

Malekko Ekko 616 sounds fantastic and fits your budget. I just recently picked one up myself and it's exactly what i was looking for.

Re: Size doesn't matter... or does it?

3 synths, 1 sampler, 1 drum machine, tons of effects. ideally i would have the ability to recreate everything i do in the studio in a live setting without having to carry around a huge pile of gear. :)

Re: Korg ESX fixer upper

I had to replace the fuse in mine and it is definitely not something i recommend doing unless you have experience with smd components. did you check for any solder bridges around the fuse that may be shorting? should be visible with a magnifying glass and a bright light. if there are any, you can pr...

Re: esx arpeggiator speed

you can reverse the arp control in the global menu. then the slider controls the quantization and the touchstrip controls pitch or gate time.

yep, you'll need to turn off the latch button on the arp section. the keys will only trigger/retrigger notes.

Re: Korg Poly 800 Sequencing Glitch

My first thought was that parameter 82 - modulation delay- was set to something other than zero, causing the lfo to kick in after whatever time it was set to. But since you say this is happening on every patch, that makes me think something else is wrong. Do you have another sequencer you could test...

Check your local thrift stores and craigslist first. Don't pay $60+ for one if you don't have to.

Cheap and awful sounding (in a good way)? sounds to me like you need an SK-1.

Re: Reported problems with Korg Electribes (EMX-ESX)

i successfully replaced the fuse in mine last winter and it's been good as new ever since. if you don't feel confident enough you could send it to me and i'll solder it for you.

i upgraded the screen on my dx9. don't see any reason that the whole series couldn't be upgraded.

the esx lets you set the sequence length to anything you want. 15 steps, 11 steps, 1 step, whatever.

Re: Poly-800 vs. Roland D-50

i've owned both and i'd go for the d50. i loved my poly 800, had a lot of cool features - sequencer, joystick, keyboard hold etc- but a vast tonal palette was definitely not one of them.

Re: Processing the ER-1?

done the part layering thing with bass sounds and it's great. also most overdrives/distortions sound good on the er1 as does pitch shifting, analog (or just lo-fi) delays, and heavy compression. tracking it through a guitar amp can also yield great sounds, just depends what your after. lately i've b...
