Re: Easiest way to tell if a Juno 106 has no defects?

I owned one with a broken voice a few years ago. It's pretty obvious if it has this problem. Just hit a key six times, and if one sounds horribly different then the rest, then it's likely got a broken voice. Other than that, just press all the buttons and move all the sliders like any other synth. M...

Re: early aphex twin distortion sound

One of the side effects of the drug, Ventolin, is tinnitus- a high pitched ringing in the ears. Apparently RDJ has asthma. I don't think he made that track just to be annoying. I personally think it's a great track.

Also think your vid is pretty cool, Joey.

Re: synth lead in human league's "fascination"

this song has a similar sound that reminds me of Fascination. I have no idea who this is, but it always plays where I work. Just thought I'd share.

Re: Why hasn't the TR 606 gained the notoriety/value of 808/

Also, if you havent checked out this album yet, I would definitely recommend it for very obvious examples of 606 drums. One of the best applications of the 606 I can think of.... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51VoyQR9p0L._SS400_.jpg great album, but only the tracks 'Analord' and 'Lover's ac...

Re: Why hasn't the TR 606 gained the notoriety/value of 808/

Most of Autechre's Incunabula features the tr606. One of my favorite albums of all time. 90% of my time making music is spent with just the 606, sh09, csq100 sequencing it, and a delay or reverb pedal on either. I can noodle on those for hours at a time. In fact, I just spent the last 2 hours playin...

Re: Small analog synth recommendations?

roland sh-09 or the micromoog if you can get them. The sh2 and multimoog were the first synths I ever played, so I'm biased toward the sound of these 4 machines...Who am I kidding, old Roland sh synths and Moogs just sound good in general.

Anyone try the novation nova vocoder? Those sometimes pop up cheap, just curious if they sound any good.

Re: Are the old Electribes getting more expensive/respected?

My emx developed knob jitter (last night, no less), and the power cable randomly falls out of my EA-1. The nicely functioning ES-1 i've had for 7 years is the only thing keeping me from thinking that electribes are total c**p.

Thanks for the tip, Rhino. I checked all of the conections, and everything seems solid. Unfortunately, it still won't turn on. I'll keep at it till I get something to happen.

CS01 won't power on after cleaning

I opened my CS01 to clean it because the switches were getting a little scratchy, and when I put it back together, it would not turn on. I tried batteries and a 9v dc power supply. Any ideas on what I may have done to it? It worked just fine before I opened it. I've cleaned/fixed lots of synths befo...

Re: Triggering/synching sh-101/tr-606/909

you need to plug the little 1/8 instrument cable into the trigger out LT or HT of the 606, and the other side into the 101s trigger input. Then select the LT or HT on the 606, put the notes in, and you'll probably want to turn the tom noise off via the little knob at the top of your 606. Then, recor...
