Re: Synths and Numbers
yeah, reminds me of my setup: Channel 1: Moog Voyager [it only has "1" voice] Channel 2: Moog Source [it is "2" times better than the Voyager] Channel 3: Prophet 08 [it has 4 LFOs and 4-1 = "3"] Channel 4: Roland Fantom [Fantoms are ghosts and there are "4" ghosts in pac-man] Channel 5: Polyevolver ...

Re: DSI Prophet 8

Definitely go for the new potentiometer version because the older knobs are c**p and so is the Soundtower editor (for me at least). I don't think you will have problems with aftertouch but I am pretty sure it isn't polyphoni...

The A-90's action was great! I only know that the Fantom action isn't as nice.

Re: Synth outputs... balanced or unbalanced?
The only synths I can think of with balanced outs are the Moog Voyager Rack, Roland Fantom, Access Virus TI Polar, and Kurzweil stuff ..The Jupiter 6 and 8 have XLR balanced outs..Mr Knesh wrote:The only synth that I have ever seen that had balanced outs on it was the Alesis Nano-Piano.

Re: Cars "Hello again" classic sync sound
While we're talking about the Cars can anyone tell what synth Ben Orr is playing in this TV performance of "Think It Over?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXvuegYEumc Looks like it might be a blackface ARP Oddyssey, and it kind of sounds like an ARP. Looking at the vids on YouTube Greg Hawkes' Shak...

Re: Need help with fxpansion guru .....
Did you try "Allow pads to respond to note-offs" under MIDI Options?
Also try clicking the Gate button in the Pad Edit screen on the pads you want to respond to note-offs.

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...
To me the best thing about the Nords is how fun and easy they are to program. Too bad I don't care much for their VA sound. I hate the knobs on the DSI stuff.

Re: DI's for Synths
DI and pres have their place in a line-level studio: http://www.thelisteningsessions.com/session4.htm It would have been nice if there were a variety of sources, and not just a drum loop. A "dry" sample would be welcome, but not particularly important. The Listening Sessions are a comparison of out...
