Re: Roland SH101 - "rare white colour model"

Yes, all your replies are as expected and as I suspected. Customsynth does such a good job at replicating original panelwork you would think it was genuine Roland silkscreening, I have seen their white one and it is convincing. It's such a shame the young generation Roland employees aren't given a "...

Roland SH101 - "rare white colour model"

Interesting - I have always believed the whole white SH101 to be a myth, and if existent, to be a fake. But here on Roland's own website they claimed it was real: https://www.rolandcorp.com.au/blog/roland-icon-series-sh-101-synthesizer I have never seen one that was verified to be genuine. What does...

Re: Casio FZ-1 Crackly Sound

Hi everyone, sorry I didn't see this post - I realize its very old, so forgive me. All of the CZ/VZ/FZ series instruments have an anti-thump power-on circuit on the output - it's basically a relay that mutes the audio out when it gets switched on for a second or two, to stop a loud pop or thud destr...

Re: Alesis MMT-8 Not Syncing Minimoog Properly

Hah yeah the album is still in the works but got sidetracked by a huge local project in Hobart, Tasmania called SYNTHESTHESIA - a compilation album of Hobart underground Electronic artists. Myself and 2 other people from a local record label Cubbyhouse Records have put together the submissions of 29...

Re: Alesis MMT-8 Not Syncing Minimoog Properly

By monitoring he means being able play the minimoog using the keyboard going THROUGH the mmt8 and then to the minimoog. The mmt8 allows this because it has a midi merge facility (MIDI ECHO button) that combines its MIDI input jack with it's MIDI output jack as well as sending it to the MIDI thru por...

Too many projects Yes, I know the feeling  There is a ROM expansion already made for the RZ called the RZ Plus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV4EL5gg9IY http://r-massive.cellarseer.com/casio-rz-1-pcm-sound-rom-hacking Also, have you seen this: http://r-massive.cellarseer.com/casio-rz-1-fir...

Re: Casio RZ-1 System Exclusive (SysEx) Implementation

Now that you've got that done, you can do a memory expansion mod for the RZ and load it up with samples to the hilt! You should be able to do a 16x sample bank expansion with the SRAM chips that are commonly available - that would give you 64 samples! I've done this mod to a Casio SK-8 as well as ot...

Re: Future sequencer replacement - MMT8 to Command Station??

A little known secret is that the very last grey ones had the updated keypad that the black ones have, as well as a lot of bugfixes in the circuit....they came out with firmware 1.10. There aren't that many of them around but if you drop in the v1.11 chip they are better than the black ones because ...

Re: Future sequencer replacement - MMT8 to Command Station??

Yep the MMT8 has 2 great things going for it - fast song assembly, and it retains its memory when powered down. No loading songs after powering up.
