IMHO every single moog monosynth is kind of overrated. you could get so much for the moog right about now, and use that money to buy things that do twice as much.

Try tuning one oscillator exactly an octave down and playing with how that oscillator is amplified. Sometimes that can give you some really nice sub frequencies that resonate really well.

It's a shame that it seems to be so speculative, altough I have to agree since Alesis hasn't been answering any of my emails and their website hasn't been updated in a long time. I might just get a Micron since it seems small and fun and i've heard good things about it. animehair, i may hold on to t...

Rackmount Alesis Ion?

I'm in the process of replacing some of my boards with rack gear since I'm going to be moving to a college dorm in the near future and I'd like to be able to use space better. I was wondering if anyone here knows if there are any plans to make a rackmount version of the Alesis Ion? I miss mine and I...

Derek Sherinian, the current keyboardist with Billy Idol on tour, uses 4 Nord Lead 3's.

I'm fairly sure a Jupiter-8 was used on the original recordings, but it really sounds like it could be any generic early-80's poly synth.

Rack screws

This may seem like a silly question...

...but does anyone know exactly what size the thread of a rack screw is? And is there an especially good place to buy them in bulk? I was going to just go to a hardware store and show them the screw and hope for the best but I'm not sure how well that will work.

Thanks a lot for the help. It actually came with all the service manuals. I'm not sure how expensive CEM chips are nowadays (I hear they're pretty pricey). I'll try the calibration when I get home.

Oberheim OB-8 - bad voice

So i was recently lucky enough to get an OB-8 in really good condition (along with a DX and a DSX - it was a really good deal), the only problem being that voice 6 is out. Whatever, that's fine. BUT, according to the manual, if the auto-tune can't automatically tune a voice, it will be disabled by t...
