Any idea which Rev Prophet Phil used for this track?

I was trying to dial it up on my 3.3, but the sweet spot appears somewhat ellusive. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

Just wanted to post a big thumbs up for Synthax. I bought his Alesis Micron SE sight unseen and it was nothing short of excellent. Against my better senses, I sent him a money order as he needed the money quickly. I was a little nervous, but he did everything possible to put my mind at ease- even of...

Re: Are you an expert on a specific synthesizer?

I'd have to submit the Ensoniq SQ-80 and Emu PX7 Command Station. Even when I haven't used them for a while, I remember them better than a bad haircut.

Any takers out there for the Andromeda? That's one synth that conquers its owners before they often conquer it.

Re: Hardware Sampler with the most sound f**k possibiliti

Try an ASR-10. (ensoniq) I have one, and it has a tendency to walk over my Emu E5000. Only sampler I know that enables the creation of transwaves. Except that it isn't a 'sampler' (it can load samples but not sample them) a TS-10 can create transwaves as well. The ASR-10 isn't a sampler? I think yo...

Re: Hardware Sampler with the most sound f**k possibiliti

for the love of f**k christ does anyone have any samples of the AP synthesis in use? I've asked on every v synth thread on this forum for a long time now Why don't you try looking in the V-Synth Forum, instead: http://forums.rolandclan.com/?p=show&action=show_all&fid=4 I'm pretty sure there were ex...

Try an ASR-10. (ensoniq) I have one, and it has a tendency to walk over my Emu E5000. Only sampler I know that enables the creation of transwaves. On top of that, it has modular capabilities in routing wavesamples, badass effects (which are loadable), realtime wavelooping/scrubbing, a decent sequenc...

but, that being said, Pro One is just a legendary mono in its own right. the beauty of Curtis sound at its finest incarnation. im thinking i wanna pick one up first, while they are still available.. all you gotta do is hear the "Don't Go" by Yazzo, and you already want it. bad. I just watched two l...

Re: Interface shopping- Dead Motu, ideas?

Try the TC Konnekt 48 or 24D. They once got a bad rap from OSX users to due driver instablility, but with the release of the most recent OS, the drivers are as stable as ever. I've had mine (Konnekt 48) for a little over 2 months and have been VERY happy with the quality of the conversion. It is nat...

[quote="Scories"]I was also thinking about getting one and a friend of mine who reallly REALLY knows a lot more than me about analog synths (professionnal jazzman/famous musician/synth teatcher...) warned me about the soft/lazy enveloppes of the A6. He said he go rid of it with no regrets. quote] Be...

Re: Factors that increase/decrease price of vintage synths

4 Years ago, some brothers and I loaded into a 1986 Saab 9000 and headed 6 hours from Boston, MA to po-dunk New Jersey to buy a Korg Mono-Poly for 420 bones. One hour out of the city, we busted a flat. It was the weekend and we didn't have much cash, so we fixed up the spare donut and used that for ...

Lots of sampling potential out there, too. (smiles at ASR-10)

Re: Let's talk about strings, baby

I'd have to second (or tenth) some of the early responders in praising the E/SQ family of Ensoniq for amazing strings. With the 8-bit samples, multiple software LFOs and envelopes and the Curtis filter, my SQ-80 really can't be beat when it comes to strings. As far as I'm concerned, it tops the Juno...

Re: Resist buying, save up for the big one

Cfor, Not to be a grinch and rain on your discipline ;-> but a Polysix for your JX-10 is a pretty sweet deal- especially if you don't have the programmer for the JX. Given that you've covered a lot of DCO territory, maybe it's time to allow for one more trade to get you further into the analog realm...

Re: If you had to

Easy one.

My Andromeda A6 and Ensoniq SQ-80.

Yes...I would pick the SQ-80 over my Voyager, Octave Cat, SH-1, MS-10 and SH-101.
