Re: Real analog or VA?
All of the replies to this thread seem to emphasize the end-result more than anything else. There's another aspect to it as well. Playing. When I was using VAs they didn't keep me interested when improvising and trying to come up with new stuff. An analog synth with nice modulation possibilities re...

Re: Real analog or VA?
Personally I think it depends on what you are doing with it. If it's going to be heavily processed, layered with other tracks, etc. the differences are going to get lost most of the time.

Re: Routing x0xb0x through Virus TI effects?
What mode are you running the Virus in? Single, Multi, Seq (VST)? Not sure exactly what you are doing, but what I'm gathering is you are wanting to take a mono audio signal and route it in and back out to utilize the effects section, and at the same time still have a playable synth patch on another ...

Re: Stupid or nonsense sentences from your synth's manuals
In the Virus KC manual, halfway through the Mod Matrix/Soft Knob section it switches from English to German. First time I tried to reference this...

Re: Keyboards come crashing to the floor!
Had one fail during a gig when one side of the upper tier of a 2 tier Proline failed and dropped my Virus C. Luckily I had a hand on the keyboard below and was able to catch the synth before it crashed to the floor, although finishing the song while holding up the keyboard in one hand was an interes...

http://www.novamusik.com/search.aspx?type=Model&keyword=5747&mid=286 Pretty much the same ballpark as the TIs have been sitting at for years. Don't see an issue there. there really isnt much of a difference DS... its not like you can't get the same features on your newly bought TI just stick with th...

Re: VA Softsynth vst's or Virus TI?
I'll offer up a little brain vomit on the whole hardware vs. software thing and some specifics regarding the TI. I used to be in the "hardware rules all" camp up till a few years ago. The quality of soft synths started getting better, but more than that, I saw a little documentary on the special fea...

Re: Do you have patches that you use over and over?
There are several patches I have used more than once on the same project, but I typically try to tweak them or use them in such a way that they are a bit different everytime. My biggest offender though is the "Devilish" patch on the Virus series. For awhile it seemed I couldn't write a song without ...

hmmm, one problem though...two guys lip-syncing female vocals? Video will probably also be a heavy part of the set, so the thought has occured to film the original vocalists in some sort of setting that would work with the song, then use that footage during their parts so the audience has so...

Sampling vocals for live playback/tweeking?
I'm in the midst of a new industrial/heavy electronic project where it looks like we will be bringing in several different vocalists on probably 50-75% of the songs while we (my partner and I) do vocals on the rest. For a live set, we plan on keeping things down to the two of us and probably a third...
