Re: If you were doing Chicago house what synths
without opening the unhealing wound that is the hardware vs software debate I think we all can agree that there are at least physical and cosmetic differences between each piece of tech used that may contribute to influencing how the music making set up is interacted with by the user, and that in tu...

Re: If you were doing Chicago house what synths
I'm reviving an old thread I know, but I've been enjoying a lot of early Chicago house again recently. It kind of depends which artists sounds you're being inspired by. Is is a more Mr Fingers / Virgo Four "deep" sound or the more acid side of things? Virgo Four speak in interviews of using the Rola...

Re: Synthesiser music from 1968?
I'm planning on making a mix of electronic music from that year for a friends birthday, he was born in 1968. It seems an interesting year for the history of electronic music and synthesizers. As far as I can tell Buchla, Moog and EMS were all producing synths around that year (what other companies w...

Synthesiser music from 1968?
I'm trying to prepare a mix using music made on synthesisers from 1968 and was wondering if anyone here could recommend any records from that year that is all synthesizer, features a synth heavily or is electronic / electro-acoustic / music concrete. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks! So fa...

the "Roland - The Synthesizer" Books would be great too if anyone is happy to share them.
I heard that they are geared towards the 700/100 systems

Roland System 100m Manual
Hi,
I'm trying to find a digital or physical copy of the Roland System 100m owners manual.
It isn't in the Roland manual ftp site.
Does anyone have a copy they would be happy to share?
Many thanks

Re: Cleaning paint off a Crumar Performer
mine has a few broken sliders too, with their tops snapped off, but they can be worked ok with a little extra effort. It's the second synth I ever got, after an MC-202, and although its not got that much range I really like the sound. Especially alongside the six-trak. Which Duran Duran tracks did i...

Re: SCI Drumtraks vs SCI Tom
thanks for your posts. Im looking forward to trying out the drumtraks, from the online videos I have seen it looks like the drumtraks is much quicker and intuitive to get patterns with lots of varying pitch and volume data in due to the 2 knobs on the front panel. Also, the drumtraks has swing that ...

Re: Cleaning paint off a Crumar Performer
many thanks for the advice. I will have a go at it myself, carefully and will try to post some pictures. If I mess up i will save up for a replacement to be made. The work of custom synths looks great, though it may be a little over the top to spend too much restoring a Crumar Performer I paid £3 fo...
