Yamaha TG-33 Problem

Dug my TG-33 out a while ago after being in storage. Now it won't work. Unfortunately it turns out that I can't make the TG-33 make a sound, not a squeek from the 2 stereo pairs at the back or even the headphone jack. It was working perfectly about a fortnight ago and its seen little to no use over ...

Re: Time for mini laptops yet?

V-stack + 1 instance of Attack running 24 voices + 2 D-pole's + 1 V-station
Is about as much as you'd get going to be guaranteed live tweakability without crackling or cut outs.

Re: Time for mini laptops yet?

I'm quite anachronistic in that regard in that my main 'big' laptop is an old Amilo with a desktop 2.66ghz PIV in it - I find it completely wipes the floor with any of those dual core centrinos (not the duos mind) in a live performance environment. The NC10 is my sisters and I love borrowing it - it...

Re: Time for mini laptops yet?

I've used Live w/ some basic enough VSTi's on the Samsung NC-10 and it ran fine. Similarly, using Virtual DJ or Mixmeister (Traktor is asking a bit much) combined with my tiny Hercules I/O and midi controller it becomes the ultimate backpack afterparty rig out.

Re: Learning to program VST/VSTi's

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm well aware of synthedit/synthmaker and even programming in an 'easier' language like Delphi etc... but, the plan ultimately being to produce something of use, I would obviously prefer to start from the outset with the industry standard. I've a basic understandi...

Learning to program VST/VSTi's

Can anyone recommend any good starting points on learning to program a VST/VSTi in C for a complete programming novice?

Re: freeware VSTi plugin to stack VST synths?

Is there any kind of freeware VST plugin that will host other VST instruments and allow me to send MIDI from one channel to 2 or more VST instruments at the same time? I'm realising that I get much thicker sounds when I stack the synths, but it gets tedious copying and pasting MIDI to duplicate tra...

Step-Sequencer VST for AL?

Fairly simple request I would have thought, but I can't managed to track something down to fit my needs. On my old MS-2000 I used to be able to get a nice sequence going, using the sixteen knobs going across to alter the pitch of a step in realtime. I have a BCR-2000 now. What VST will act as a host...

1. CS-80v This is just....superb. The warmness and richness of the tone, the clarity of the oscillators - with no other synth is it so easy to tear your speaker cones apart! 2. Pro-53 Completely underwhelming interface, but sounds nice and tight and cuts through a mix like nothing else - plays well ...

Am I the only one seriously underwhelmed by this? The only real note of interest is that KORG are setting a precedent in terms of marketing serious music apps on portable formats. In terms of sounds its a bit too brittle for the synthheads and too sterile for the lo-fi junkies. If there was a MIDI o...

Nah, in terms of hardware its fine - everything is configuring properly and the LEDs are chasing etc... Basically its down to shoddy drivers and not properly setting up my two control surfaces I reckon; its supposed to be rock solid in standalone mode, it certainly is intuitive. Anyways, after flash...

Right, so when I use Behringers proprietary Sysex dumper to update the firmware to the latest reiteration, one in three attempts I'm usually able to map controls within said ableton session. In between that I'm getting the odd BSOD, most of which seem to be USB related - I got *five* "This system ha...

BCR2000 refusing to map in Ableton

Fairly self-explanatory. Got meself a BCR2000 for a song but can't seem to get it working. The only other peripheral connected to the computer in question is a Tascam US-428 Control surface/interface which is working normally. USB Drivers are the latest. Firmware is the latest. Tried it in modes u-1...

Think this is all included in a zip I had called the "ES-1 Sample Pack" - there's a link to it somewhere or other (Yahoo Users Group for the ES-1 or something?)
