SCI Pro-One: After spending a few hours toying with it, I just didn't like the sound, and absolutely hated the keybed. Wished I didn't get rid of my SH-101 in order to get it. Quasimidi 309: LOVED the sound, but hated the sequencer. To someone used to the Korg Electribe boxes, the layout of the 309 ...

whoa, whats the difference then ? German dudes decided to switch in the middle of production ? They did the same thing with the knobs and with the diagrams on the Polymorph. Some Polymorphs have no blue knobs, so have whole rows of them, and others only have 2 or 3. Also, there are atleast two vari...

Alright so I have a program called goldwave that I sometimes use for editing. I think I can record into it. If not, I'll just get audacity or something cheap (Edit: free) like that. All I need is the file of the sample.... Renoise has a nifty sample editor built in, besides the fact that it's a ful...

but having a small, out of date computer laying around dedicated to running editors on W98 or XP or whatever doesn't sound too hard to deal with. Don't even bother with that. With todays hardware, running an old OS under a Virtual Machine environment is just as easy, and doesn't require you to keep...

There's a few decent one's here: http://ihatebreakcore.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=22 Unfortunately, some of the sample packs have corrupted files, and others have files set at various bit rates, so you may want to import them all into a sample editor and normalize them to t...

A fix for the noise: http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufacturers/Roland/SH-101/mods/roland.SH-101.antinoise.mod.txt Enjoy. As for the gate thing, that's the way it was on my old one. I just never used gate for that reason. Maybe you could run it through an external ENV in order to get rid of the cli...

Re: Hartmann Neuron
If you buy one, the first thing I'd do is open it up and clone the internal ATA hard drive. You never know when it may fail, rendering the whole apparatus unusable. It's nothing but an old Micro-ATX-ish form factor PC board inside with a hardrive running the whole thing. I've been wondering if it wa...

Apparently, the Ultralite only works on Firewire chipsets from Texas Instruments which I'm pretty sure my Dell Inspiron E1505 does not have. Also, ASIO4ALL does not work with the Dell's internal soundcard. Any other suggestions for an audio interface? I think you can adjust the buffer on the Preson...

Re: Glitch, IDM Synth/Drum Machines
Im looking for that Venetian Snares/ Prefuse 73 kind of sound but have really no idea what kind of synths/drummachines/samples that are used. Or in what way? Are samplers important? Is everything done in computers? Anyone? VS does everything in Renoise, AFAIK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGK-EzE...
