Re: Hartmann Neuron VS under windows 7

thanks for that mate,

i have an older dualcore laptop with 4gbs thats running xp that i've run the neuron on before and have a nice pcmica sound card for it. a simple usb/midi box should do the trick, could probably use my micro modular on it as well but i think that works under windows 7 ok..

Re: Hartmann Neuron VS under windows 7

i already have the neuron vs + nuke sitting in its pretty little box but for various reasons havent been able to use it much.

whats the best way to integrate a standalone pc into a midi enviroment? wont you get problems with latency? or do try and sync your daw/vst host to the external midi clock?

matching track volumes over a collection/album

hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on matching the volume levels of tracks across a collection of ambient pieces myself and friend have been working on. I think we are fairly happy with the mixes within each individual track and I would hate to loose the dynamics going on th...

Re: Akia VX90/AX73

i have an akai ax73 and i quite like it, its 6 socketed chips in there for 6 voices etc... dont think its a VCO synth but i havent looked that closely. its got a nice sound to it and a quirky filter - its very harsh and flips into fizzy resonance around 38-40 on the slider. not sure how i feel about...

you could try cleaning the key contacts, if you open it up and have a look you should find some copper/metal contacts under each key and then you can compare the non working ones to the rest of them. could well be dust or something in there.

i was using my mpc 2500 to sequence my Q and micromodular yesterday - very painless and interactive and no timing issues! (which were the bane of my existence with my sound card)

it sounds like you have a bad midi out from your 909, i would try recording the midi output onto your PC to see if you get anything. or plugging it into a midi merger thing and seeing if the midi in light flashes on. you might have to get it fixed up.. theres a tech wizard by the name of Maschinenge...
