Or if just for a single album, then Ultravox at Conny Plank's studio in 1981.

Re: New synth from Nord coming :-P
A Nord Wave 2 would be nice. They recently took the first Wave out of production, and it would be a damn shame to not have a synth that could put their massive sample library to good use.

Re: Any Known Bands that used the Korg Poly 61?
It might be the angle throwing me off a little, but it kinda looks like Frank Mertens of Alphaville (right) at least posed with a Poly-61 in this shot:

Re: Proph 08 Jump
If I had a penny for every time the "lol how do i make jump" thread popped up here, I could buy me a GX1 and a house to fit the bugger in. </grumpyoldman> In all seriousness, though: I've stopped considering "Jump" as the be-all-end-all of OB-style synth brass. As a vague reference point, sure, but ...

Re: How many of you still have your first synth?
I first bought a Roland JP-8080 with a Korg K61 controller. The latter is now in the bin because it broke, but the JP soldiers on. I've considered selling it on a few occasions, but I'm not sure I can ever bring myself to it. Right now I use it far too much to justify it.

Selling the Phatty for a Mopho?
For about four years I've plodded around with a Little Phatty Stage II, which has a wonderful sound, but the interface is starting to get on my nerves. You know; push button X before changing the parameter with knob Y, et cetera ad nauseum. I find it a fantastic synth for bowel-breaking whole-note b...

Re: Preloaded Perfect Presets
Like previously mentioned, the D-50 presets actually does a good job of displaying the intended capabilities of the synth. Some of them are even quite pleasant-sounding and usable in a lot of settings. The Prophet '08 also has quite a few well-made presets - some made to push the boundaries of the a...

Hiding Wires and Cables
It's probably a thread that pops up every now and again, but I need some quick advice. The state of the floor is now a pretty serious mess of cables, and I'm starting to get a little concerned about things like fire hazards (for some reason, the outlets in the main room, where I keep my gear, are no...

Re: Most physically attractive synths
Speaking of bloody huge gear: Honourable mention - since it's not a synth, but an electric piano - goes to Yamaha again for this: http://www.cathedralstone.net/Pics/CP70B1.jpg If you put a hot-looking synth on the lid of this 'un, like a Prophet or an Oberheim, you automatically gain 9001 Awesome P...

No, but never mind. Dug around and found out that the MIDI Setup was set to POLY: 1 of 1. Turned that off, and it worked like a charm!

Moog Little Phatty keyboard priority issue
So, I don't know what happened, but I d**k around with the setting on the Moog every once in a while and occasionally, something stupid happens. This is one of those times, and it's getting quite frustrating. Thing is, I have a Moog LP Stage II with the recent firmware upgrade. A few days ago, I not...
