Re: selling a synth you planned to re-purchase
a roland jx3p and a sequential circuits six trak. both i got for next to nothing (like 50 and 250 respectively), and both the last time i looked at ebay had gone up a fair amount. im especially kicking myself because that six trak was old new stock. no scratches, no grubby grease stains on the keys ...

Re: Rant about the lack of modern hardware samplers.
i am not trying to be a troll as i love samplers. but... didn't read ANY of the posts other than the original and i've just got to put in my vote that i love soft samplers. with a good soft sampler and a series of good controllers you can design an array of interfaces that suit you for various facet...

sound design wise?
+1 to d16

Re: Hardware for playing VST instruments?
and if youre using a standalone synth you can set it so that the computer never boots the OS and just launches your synth. you can get a midi brain like a umc32 or livid instruments brain and build on the face of the rack mount a dedicated control section. h**l if you know how to program your own so...

Re: The One(s) That Got Away
i had gotten a sequential circuits six trak like 2 years ago, really cheap, and NO wear this thing was f**k new - i think i got it for 150 or 200. im no analog fetishist but i loved it, and i really wasnt expecting much from it. i wasnt very responsible back then, had a s**t job and ended up selling...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
On last years, I have been more interested on non-common source sounds and sampling diversification, than in getting a big analog fat sound... i always found it amazingly retarded when one would read some brain dead music publications album "reviews" where 60 minutes of audio is summed up in one pa...

Re: This arpeggio interests me
It sounds like an simple synth arpeggio through a phaser and a few delays. You could also achieve this with LFOs and delays. Bryan / VAC has some great ideas, but the wrong attitude. At heart he is a very good electronic musician but his brain tells him to act like drug addicted nihilist punk. It's...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
I wouldn't say Tallow was trying to serve any of you, but if you take it that way then hurrah! Tools are tools are tools. People bond with certain tools because they better enable them to make something they want to make. The tool is not an end unto itself. I love analog synthesizers, much like eve...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
I strongly agree. A person who is just getting into music (who is also your best customer since they are actually looking to buy stuff and not just find an excuse to appreciate what they already have more :? ) doesn't take much note in the difference between a Moog patch coming from a Voyager and t...

Re: musikmesse 2010 Frankfurt
That being said... that new elektron box really excites me Had the same effect for me, for about an hour... then when it was properly "unveiled", it turns out the emphasis is on DJs and "producers". I have yet to see any evidence that it is possible to do any sort of traditional / chromatic sequenc...

(Wishful thinking) A fully-analogue EA-1, perhaps? I don't think that would be all that far fetched man, throw one of those monoboxes into a case with the ea1 sequencer... They wouldn't need to do much r&d. s**t I will shocked if someone doesn't just make a mod that accomplishes that. Midi that mon...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
How much wailing and gnashing of teeth is there going to be when people discover it's not actually the same filter as in an MS-10 or 20? I predict: A lot. yes you're right, korg are lying. i know this because i, too, have watched a couple of low res youtube demos of said filter in action He knows t...
