Re: Gear Trading Thread- Moogcentric

thinking about selling or trading my recently refurbished 1970's MiniMoog D - works like a charm with updated oscillators, MIDI added with just a few cosmetic issues (been around the USA for a few decades with this baby) but the internal workings and sound - sweet. I don't want to take it live anymo...

Re: 1970's MiniMoog... now what?

I think you all have some good points but seeing as alex is too far away to give it to him, I think I'll hang on to the Min i and next time we're the headliner, bring the baby out for a solo or two. Thanks everyone!

1970's MiniMoog... now what?

So I decided to spend the money and resurrect my 1970's MiniMoog via a gentleman out in California named Chris Hewitt and http://www.thisoldsynth.com. long story short - amazing. Amazing amount of work and parts and time and money and now my prized puppy is back and plays like a champ! So now what.....

Original Minimoog repairs needed.

Sorry to post here but there's a lot of vintage players in this group and well... I fired up my original MiniMoog yesterday and it's ailing big time. Won't boar you with details but if anyone can point me to a reputable repair/refurbish place or person for this puppy, I would be eternally grateful. ...

Music on the SX64

Greetings from Michigan. I'll tell you what - this fun thread will make me pull my old tapes out of songs (all instrumentals) that I did with the SX back in the late 70's , early 80's and I'll turn them into MP3's for our universal amusement and let you know when they're up on the web. I used a 16 t...

Commodore - in particular the SX64

Tyler: Saw your post on the SX64...was it me that said I'd "give" you an SX64 and MIDI stuff? I ask because I really don't recall the conversation. That being said, I do have two SX64's (one has a bad screen but I used an extension monitor for critical viewing) as well as software (both musical and ...

MiniMoog

Not hard per se, but a pain that has to keep happening over time. There is a build up of grunge on the gold wires that cause the stuttering and pitch fluctuations. Just turn the puppy upside down, remove the bottom board and you'll see all (that means many) the wires. Then - never touching them with...

Mine has changed over the years but the current set up for my band SWEET CRYSTAL is: KORG Triton Extreme (76) Hammond XK-1 KORG Karma 3 tier stand on wheels - all playing through a Motion Sound KBR3D and 500 watt JBL powered 18" sub. D70 For Dummies Book

Just kidding...but I do have an old softcover manual called" Up and Running with the Roland D70" which is more in-depth than the orignal Owner's Manual...which I might still have.

Interested - PM me and maybe you can have it fairly cheap.
No pressure.

Mirage Rack

I have that same unit (and used to have the keyboard version as well). Let me look around this weekend and see what kind of docs and such I might have to help you. I do have a DVD on how to work with the Mirage that explains a lot if you're interested. I used to belong to the MUG (Mirage User Group)...

No problems doing what you're planning if you keep the Gain Stage under control (do a google search if unfamiliar with the term). My main mixer is a TASCAM DM24. Going into various channels; Tascam TDM1 into 2 channels (digital connect) Kawaii MXR-8S - analog 2 channel connect Behringer EURORACK PRO...

MOTu

I will look around and see. Glad it's up and running - sounds like it was using the wrong MOTU driver (there was a PC Flyer early on).
Make sure and search the MOTU.com site for the lates software driver for that unit and your OS.

MOTU Cable

Did you get the manual with it? Windows machines are always a bit more problematic when it comes to creative music apps but the MOTU stuff should play nice. You'll be fine.
