Re: KORG Prologue
No more step sequencer? That was my favorite feature of the other 'logues! Am I greedy for still wanting it even with all the other s**t they've added?

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
I voted for Disco Demolition. Not winning any arrangement contests with this one but the sounds and mix are good a lot of good subtle stuff going on in there. Surprised that is was so short but who knows maybe it's just short enough that you don't get sick of it. I'd be curious if those sounds all ...

Re: VSE Disco Competition - ends June 1st/14
Just uploaded my tune. It's something I started last year and never finished because it started sounding like a disco song  . Dusted it off, touched it up and I think it sounds ok. Not exactly synth driven like the other two but I think it has a disco vibe nonetheless. Hope to see some more sub...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I noticed something rather odd on my MS-20. When I try to do a trill, I can go up but not down. So I can hold down say, an E, and alternate between E and F with E being held the entire time. But if I start on E and try to go down to D, it doesn't seem to work. It will just stay on the note I started...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I love this thing more every time I turn it on. It's been steadily making its way into more and more tunes.
Lately I've been creating patches and sampling a note into maschine. Tune chromatically, add some delay and reverb, and you have a quasi-MS-20 poly synth.

Re: Beat Box: A Drum Machine Obsession book / review
The release party for this book was a few weeks ago here in Boston. It was a fun time he had a couple of the machines on display (can't remember which ones). Couldn't afford to cop the book but good to see people are supporting this.

If this thing costs less than $1000, I'm going to have to buy it.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Yeah definitely not a feature exclusive to the MS-20, more of a character trait of analog filters. This is the first real piece of analog I've ever gotten to spend a lot of time with. You can only learn so much via the internet, ya know?

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I figured out the other day that you can boost the low frequencies of the filter by cranking up the resonance on the High Pass Filter and opening it about halfway. Gnarly stuff.ryryoftokyo wrote: I've been having a blast overdriving the filter lately. My ears, not so much![]()

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I love mine. I plugged a nice pair of headphones into it the other day and was blown away at how rich the sound actually is. Never really noticed when I was playing it through a speaker. The range of sound that you can get out of the MS-20 is amazing, and I posted earlier in this thread about how it...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I cant seem to get sample and hold to work. I patched everything how Nick Batt showed me and nothing happens. Am I missing something?
