I was thinking it would be fun to have a contest where people try to make the best song with nothing but hobnox.

Re: lofi sound stuff
get an octave pedal that does octave-up and get an octave pedal that does octave-down. Turn them both to 100% wet one after the other. That ought to f**k something up.

Re: Realistic Moog Concertmate MG-1 oscillator problem
*i am not a professional and take no responsibility if this hurts your synth* but I don't think it will. Could you just take a bit of wire and do a short between the terminals for the slider? Seem that that would bypass it and allow you to hear it at full volume. Does the ringmod and sync still chan...

Re: lofi sound stuff
I can't find any info on this online, but at your local walmart in the toys section look for a "yadda yadda yadda" sampler. It's a little box smaller than a deck of cards. You hit "Say", record a couple seconds, then there is a potentiometer on the bottom for controlling the playback pitch. Just ne...

Re: lofi sound stuff
I happen to like the telephone mic. I've made a sold quite a few of them, and I find them to be simple way to get a c**p sound without trying. I'm sure they aren't for everybody, but if you want to sound like you're on the phone, these will do. Also, if you want to sound like you're on the radio, us...

If you do it cleanly, it will probably riase the value if you intend to sell at some point.
Also, just curious, what are you running? Synthcart? Do you like it?

Roland Alpha juno? Casio CZ? Do you mean as a left-hand performance-style control? Any other wants? Any synth you find, even in that price range, will probably have those features.

Can't you just do an audio out mod? Highly liquid does them, it seems like it would be pretty simple.

Re: Warm/cold subjectivity
wow. What a wordy thread!
I'll try to judge mine (and past synths) just for the sake of it:
MG-1: warm
HS-60: warm
CS-5: either
ESQ-1: either
AX-80: cold
EA-1: cold
CZ-101: eithter
I guess.... When I try to lay it out, I don't feel very confident about the answers...

You could buy both of those synths twice and have plenty of money left over for that much cash.
Is that what they usually cost? Seems kind of crazy.

Re: Small monophonic analog synths for basslines and electro
I fancy the Moog MG-1, personally. Very different from the sh-101, so you won't have any overlap, and in my opinion it is a very fun synth. It's really really odd and quirky. two detunable mono oscillators with sync, noise, a ring mod you mix in like another oscillator, and a fully polyphonic oscill...

CS-5 to MG-1 cv
So I recently got a Yamaha CS-5 and it's great, but one of the reasons I picked this particular synth was the control voltage capabilities. Only thing is that it won't communicate with my MG-1 properly. Appearently moog and yamaha used different standards... I looked it up online and I'm pretty sure...
