Re: Should I buy a vintage analogue synth or a modern modelling synth?
There are so many options right now, if I had the cash for a vintage synth I'd probably grab a Matrixbrute. I would also go with the Behringer Odyssey over the Korg due to the larger keys but that's just me.

Re: How is Oberheim Matrix-6 still so cheap?
I haven't played a Matrix-6 in 20 years, does it remotely do any of those big Rush/Van Halen sort of OB8 sounds? Those fat string type pads?

Re: Your latest musical purchase
My latest is a green carbon fiber acoustic guitar, went to the factory in Donegal Ireland and fell in love with them so pulled the trigger. Still waiting on Behringer for the D as well though lol

Re: Advice for a general purpose newbie?
If you can find an Alesis Fusion6, those will do an awful lot of stuff for the money.

I only rarely play live out anymore, but when I do it is always hardware synths and bass guitar. I get my Geddy on when I get the chance

Re: Acer W3 Win8 tablet - anyone use one?
I found that SaviHost, and the free OP-X synth, which sounds pretty good
Might have to think about getting the full version since the free one times out every couple of seconds lol

Re: Korg MS-20 Kit
I have had trouble in the past with kits where the total input expected of me is "add water, makes its own sauce" so I would rather get a Sub37 for this cash. But I don't think its a necessarily bad idea; if it's limited it should sell out.

WTF: Haken Audio Continuum Fingerboard
The Continuum has been out for years - this clip is 6 years old :
Fairly certain that's controlling a V-synth XT in that clip

Re: Moog Sub 37, finaly a new poliphonic Moog?
That video was fantastic :) I know most of you have forgotten more about synths than I know, but it was striking to see someone like Amos who actually seems to fully comprehend the instrument and its capabilities when you think of all of the other button pushers you usually see in these types of vid...

Re: Acer W3 Win8 tablet - anyone use one?
Will definitely check out Sunvox, thanks
Honestly, I know nothing about VSTs, what would be a typical lightweight one? I believe I have 2 GIG of ram and a 32gig disk.
Thanks again, and in advance

Re: JD-800 vs V-Synth
I'd love a VC-1 card for my V-synth if I could find one reasonably priced. But then I guess there's a 1000 things I'd like to find reasonably priced! lol

Acer W3 Win8 tablet - anyone use one?
I bought this tablet for my lovely bride last October and she decided in about 3 minutes she had no use for it. Just found it now and wondering if there is any musical use for it? Anyone using a small 7"Windows 8 tablet for any musical software? It's got that tiny ph9one USB plug, so it does have USB

I was hoping (when I first saw this thread) for something more along the lines of the Oberheim 2 voice, though this will likely come in at a price possibly half that of the new Oberheim. And now I will bow back out of this conversation
