Re: D-50 Sound Track Patch on Super JV?

I was contacted with a request to post a demo of the "SoundNight 2" JD-990 patch. It's actually the "SoundNight 1" patch (the "SoundNight 2" is a bit different and has some resonant synth / vox added). Here's an audio demo of the SoundNight 1 patch (misspelled "SoundNigth <1>" in the bank): http://s...

So if I get a the first modell without any info about the version i can update it myself to v 2.0.
Yep, you can. You just have to load a couple of files into the V-Synth via the USB port. The Ver.2 files are freely available at the Roland site.

I've never liked circuit-bending, and don't support it. Why destroy any perfectly cool, vintage little toy to obtain noises that you can get - without effort - from any software audio editor - starting with any waveform and adding plug-in fx ad libitum? In the end, it's going to sound very similar.

Maybe the reason for that then, is that "factory B" aren't "factory" patches. Like you said they aren't in the manual and the Juno only has space for 56 anyway... They are indeed Factory patches - from Roland. The alternate Factory patches. You can only load them by erasing the "standard" Factory p...

I've only been able to find visuals for bank A in the manual. It's factory B I want. http://synthmania.com/juno-60.htm This page has a few audio examples of bank B. I love the sound of the OB-8 as well, but find its interface to be a bit counterintuitive for several of its functions.

Very good job, Clusterchord

One of the true classic synths... any Rev... I would gladly take any version, even a 3.. even though your Rev 2 sounds really nice.

I've had an MS6. Here are a few examples of some sounds I liked on it: nice analog strings '80s synth classic ob style brass Emerson style Moogish brass this reminds of the ARP used by Joy Division in Decades everybody needs a TUBA super resonant filter typical mega-detuned early '90s rave synth Eth...

I seem to remember from reading an interview in the book "History of House" by Chris Kempster that a Juno-60 was used for all synth parts... and TR0707 for drums - but I could be wrong, I'll check in the book

Interestingly, the XV contains as part of it's ROM wave quite a few waves from other Roland gear. It has three variations of the D-50 sawtooth, which *is* in fact much more grungy than the more hifi waves - much less top end etc. It doesn't unfortunately have the D-50 square wave, so I might need t...

It's not an easy task... as usual with a lot of D-50 patches, it uses 4 partials, so it can be complex to recreate perfectly, but I'll write down the most important parameters and most of all - provide audio examples (single note at useful range for this patch - C3, C4, C5, C6) - so you can try to e...

I liked it, and appreciate your effort very much :)

I am looking for an SH-101 myself -

The only suggestion I could offer, is that you could script the videos in advance... and read from the script as you go..

I use an SBX-80 to sycronize 909, 808 and 303 - It's all Roland equipment so I find it to be extremely tight and stable - and you get a similar 'feel' like the 909 sequencer.

Out of those three I would recommend the QS7 - because it's the most recent one and more versatile than the other two. The Roland and Korg are also nice machines if you don't need reproductions of acoustic sounds. Also, the QS7 is a very capable MIDI controller, with both velocity (the keyboard play...
