Re: Advice on Prophet600
You may already know this, but from my experience the primary problem with your P600 and the problem you have with triggering it via MIDI may well be separate issues. My P600 has no problems when playing it via its own keyboard, but I have the same problem when triggering it via MIDI.

Re: Prophet 5 versus Prophet 600
Er yeah whatever it is that causes all that digital chicanery. Here's the guy's website: http://prophet600.blogspot.co.uk/ . He occasionally posts on here too. I love my 600 but I'd love it even more with improvements. Not sure of the scope of that project but ideally a noise source would be added....

Yamaha MM6: routing key velocity to filter?
Hi all...so, via email, I'm trying to help a friend who has an MM6 set up an auto-wah patch. I'm thinking she just needs to route key velocity to the filter cutoff frequency...but, having had a look at a pdf of the manual, I see no discussion of filter modulation options in the very limited section ...

Re: Prohpet 600 and Juno 106 question
I have a P600 and a Juno 6 and both get extensive use in my setup--they are very different beasts. The P600 has a big, woolly and somewhat dark VCO sound, whereas the Juno, with its DCOs and "sweeter" (prettier?) filter has a much more precise and generally brighter character. For basses and quick s...

Re: Ultimate Sound Design via Synthesis!
The three likeliest culprits in any pure sound design I do are the EMU e-6400, DSI Evolver, and Arp 2600.
I would love to have a V-Synth. Someday. And a Kyma system. Probably never.

Re: Mic preamp questions
A preamp brings mic level to line level, so you'll want to go into the line input. And you won't see your tube glow as shown in the ad.

JV1010 won't boot--options?
Happy New Year all! My JV1010 stopped receiving MIDI from my controller; when I turned it off and then on again, the initial "Roland" started to scroll across the screen but stopped at "lan," where it seems to freeze every time now. Is there some alternate way to boot this module (e.g., some combina...

Re: Synthesizer Novice
Given the clip you posted and the prevalence of pad sounds therein, I think a polysynth might be what you're after (rather than a monosynth like the Minimoog). Some good advice above. With processing (tape and otherwise), it may well not really matter (to start, at least) whether you go analog or vi...

Re: Know this Lowrey organ (pic)?
I very much appreciate the replies guys (and Micke--I'm honored to be the subject of one of your uncanny ID jobs). From the info available it sounds pretty great. For $125, I might just have to pick it up. Although physically...that might be the rub (picking it up, that is). Not sure how, exactly, t...

Re: Interesting examples of ring modulation?
Transistor radio-->MF Ring Mod (varying amounts)-->MF delay (varying amounts)
First comes in at .09...becomes the sound you hear from .49 on...begins to emerge from the ring mod at 1.34
