Re: Synthesizers with awesome arpeggiators

While the non TI Viruses lacked programmable arps, I did like the fact that you could scan through the preset patterns with an lfo or other modulation source. The emu command stations also had really deep Arp modes.

Re: Yamaha SY35 Equivalent

Never used one, but like most workstations and other modern romplers it has the ability to split and layer sounds across the keyboard. It doesn't do vector synthesis though.

All the people over at muffwiggler are bitching about the ascetics, but I dunno I kind of love how it looks.

I'm actually kind of shocked that the street price is only 899. I was expecting it to sell for around 1500.

Re: ELTA Polivoks Mini

Definitely interested. I've always wanted a polivoks, but I was wary of purchasing one here in the states. While it might not be as feature laden as the original I have a big soft spot for single oscillator mono's.

Re: Future sequencer replacement - MMT8 to Command Station??

Did anyone ever figure out how to make an actual song with the Kawai Q80/EX?? I had one many years ago and it would have been the perfect MMT8 replacement except that I couldn't figure out how to make a song out of it by assembling patterns together , like the MMT8. It was exhausting interpreting t...

Re: Boutique SH01a ...Pretty nice.

vexing user interfaces Which Rolands? When I acquired a Jupiter 6, I had no need for a manual because it was laid out so intuitively. Now I have a Juno 60; I've never seen a simpler user interface, except maybe on the venerable Korg Synthe-Bass. Even the Volcas are more complex than a Juno. The TR-...

Re: Boutique SH01a ...Pretty nice.

I've always had a precarious relationship with roland gear, due to their at first vexing user interfaces, but I'm actually pretty impressed with the tr-8 and h**l even the tb-3 which I picked up on a whim. I've never owned or used the originals, but the former definitely sounds better than any sampl...

Re: Future sequencer replacement - MMT8 to Command Station??

An mpc is probably your best bet. I had an xl7 years ago, but I found the mpc2000xl I briefly owned more immediate and straight forward. This isn't to say the command stations aren't great sequencers, I just recall there being a lot more menu diving. I really like the Social Entropy Engine, but whil...

Buy an older VA for poly duties, than pair it up with a newer analog mono.

I like my nano verb, although I recently replaced it with a strymon blue sky. Is there any relation with the midiverb series?
