Re: Korg Z3 software editor or patches?
Yeah I ended up deciding on Unisyn. Seems like the only software editor out there for the Z3. I was actually thinking about using a bass guitar instead of guitar. Do you have any thoughts on whether the pickup would work with a bass guitar? I was just speculating that the tracking might work even be...

Korg Z3 software editor or patches?
I just purchased a Korg Z3 guitar synthesizer. There is limited editing options available via the front panel so I was wondering if there are any good software patch editors or freely available patches that might be available online? I feel like this synth is a bit under-appreciated and it could be ...

Re: Behringer discussing making ARP Odyssey now
Looks like the Korg Odyssey will be making its debut at NAMM 2015 on January 22. I wonder what Korg will be pricing these at. I definitely want one. There's a very cool novelty factor in one synth company redesigning a classic synth from another company.

Re: Connection between circuit bending and granular synthesi
Yeah I get that they are very different. I guess I'm just wondering if circuit bending a digital synth with PCM samples, as you were saying, qualified as a form of granular synthesis.

Connection between circuit bending and granular synthesis?
I was wondering if someone could elaborate on the connection between circuit bending and granular synthesis. I know circuit bending has had a long history and granular synthesis is somewhat more recent development. I'm just now starting to collect some circuit bent drum machines and I noticed that m...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
I purchased an E-mu Ultra Proteus from silverball. He was a consummate professional. Quick to ship and packaged well. Great price too. Pleasure doing business with.

Re: Any love for the Roland Juno 60?
Great sound but the lack of MIDI is a deal breaker. I would go with a Juno 106.

The FS1R is capable of some cool choir type sounds using formant shaping.

Re: New DSI Mopho 4 Voice Synth Announced
I am a fan of the Evo digital oscillators and 3X delay line and would have liked to have seen these capabilities further explored, perhaps with elements of wavetable and vector synthesis along with Curtis filters. Totally agree. The evolver broke new ground. They should have further developed that ...

Re: Wavetable vs Transwave Synthesis
make sure the power regulator fix has been done to the fizmo The person I bought it from replaced the power unit, so it should provide me with many years of service *crosses fingers*. Thanks for the concern guys! the power supply, or the regulator? the problem with fizmos is there is a specific com...

Re: Wavetable vs Transwave Synthesis
Ended up picking up both a Microwave XTk and a Fizmo. Having done an A/B comparison, they are quite different beasts. I feel like the Fizmo has more of an ethereal, ambient sound whereas the XTk has a more aggressive sound that cuts through a mix. They complement each other well. The XTk is much mor...
