Re: I Dream of Wires
Modular synthesizers aren't for everyone and the format options are almost too much to tackle with. Eurorack has turned into the standard for better or worse and really what difference does it make. It looks likes this modular doc will give the best comprehensive knowledge of what it set out to do w...

Re: New Access Machine!
Moog does the color thing but I can understand it with their gear and in general I like it. The color thing with the snow doesn't make a whole lot of sense. There's white snow and yellow snow and black ice but I'm not sure about "Black Snow."

samuraipizzacat29,
It shouldn't require that much thought/response when it comes to a relatively simple question.

Re: What defines a digital or analogue circuit?
It seems like most of the essence of the thread title has perhaps been lost and Tallowwaters picked up on that. I define digital as software based sound generation/manipulation requiring a DAC to communicate with the outside world and analog as all other methods. I understand that a grey line exists...

Re: Roland Jupiter-50 announced
Does anyone actually know how well the Jupiter-80 is selling? Perhaps the 50 is a way to try and recoup R&D from the 80 but does anyone here actually know for sure? I've been curious as to how it sounds in person and hopefully the local GC or George's actually get a 50 in to demo. I may actually lik...

Re: Moog LP expression control for filter
I don't think he wants to put electric bass through the LP, just he's used electrib bass + MF-101 + expression in the past, liked it, and wants to have similar foot control for synth basses? He didn't say electrib but rather electric bass. Maybe I'm missing something but these are very different.

Re: Moog LP expression control for filter
The most important dynamic sound you can get from the MF-101 (MoogerFooger filter) is the result of the built in Envelope Follower. The LP doesn't have a Envelope Follower so the results will not be the same. The LP's Gate input doesn't produce the "Follower" result rather it simply triggers both AD...

Re: Most unique/wierd sounding Eurorack modules?
For FSU I'd consider either the Wogglebug or the Noisering. If you not in a hurry there are two MakeNoise modules I've been beta testing which are great for sound generating and manipulation. He has a dual VCO packed with features on the way and a echo/pitchshift module in colaboration with Tom Erbe...

Re: Doepfer Dark Energy
I've been tempted on this one for a while but Analogue Haven always seems to be out of them and as far as I know they're the only US dealer. Nova Musik has them in stock! http://www.novamusik.com/search.aspx?type=Model&keyword=6616&mid=240&lbs=6 If you contact them they offer special deals on their...

Re: Slim Phatty
I don't think the LP envelopes are analogue either, I have a feeling they're digital as well. But if you can't tell the difference then it doesn't matter. The LP's envelopes are in fact analogue but as you said It only matter's how it sounds and right now I can't wait for the Harvestman Double Ando...

Re: Waldorf Q problems? rare or universal?
Had a Sahara Q keyboard for many years and after the final OS update the only annoying problems I had were related to the Q cards. It's a great VA and I do miss it!
The Encoders and buttons had some issues but they worked and never completely failed.

He mentions in the first video that they wanted to get the "analog" portion of the Jupiter 80 right!Automatic Gainsay wrote:![]()
Yes, what a terrible tragedy that the Jupiter 8 so completely failed at it's intended purpose: being a live simulator of acoustic instruments.
