Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
I'm going to go a bit of a different route here, but I'd like to see a Hammond B-3 reissue. Or any genuine tonewheel reissue.

Already done (If you have a V-synth). The VC-1 card turns the V-synth into a virtual D-50.edfunction wrote:a boutique d50 would be great!

Re: MIDI frustration
Okay, so here's the setup. I've got my controller connected to my PC with a MIDI to USB cable. I'm running Samplitude Pro X as my DAW. Within that I'm controlling Garritan Personal Orchestra 4. With the Triton, everything works perfectly. I connected the V-synth the same way, and that's when the pro...

MIDI frustration
I've recently solved many synth and recording issues that had bugged me for a long time. Much of it thanks to the great people on this forum. One last issue is still giving me trouble. I've been using my Triton as a MIDI controller, and it works great. But IIRC most if not all those wonderful knobs ...

Re: How many of you have organs in your set-up?
I have 2 organs, but neither are in my setup. One is a Hammond M-143 that currently doesn't work. The other is a W.W. Putnam reed organ that works but still needs some TLC.

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
Well if it's any comfort, I lost some functionality on it since switching to Windows 7.

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
It was the sacrifice. I sacrificed a microKorg to the synth gods and they weren't happy. So I also made an offering of a DX7 and that seems to have appeased them. ;) make sure the cable midi IN is connected to the Yamaha midi OUT. Actually this was it. I assumed the IN and OUT labels indicated that ...

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
It's showing up in Samplitude as USB2.0-MIDI. Should I try to find an adapter that comes with driver software? Any recommendations?

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
Not sure about that. I've had the cable for awhile but there's no markings on it other than specifying which DIN plug is IN and which is OUT.

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
Yes, I'm using Windows. 7 to be exact. As for the controller, it's not strictly a controller, but should be able to act as one. And I can use it to control other synths with no issue. It's a Yamaha PSR 740.

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
I think I understand you, garranimal. So let me ask you this. I see what I believe is a MIDI activity meter. When I play something on my keyboard, it doesn't register anything. But then I pull up the VSTi interface (in this case Garritan's ARIA engine) and click on the keys shown at the bottom. This...

Re: MIDI recording - a little help?
Yes, I've checked my midi channels, and everything lines up correctly. I'm not sure if this matters but I'm using a midi to usb cable to connect the keyboard to the computer.

MIDI recording - a little help?
I've been recording with hardware synths for years. I recently started using software synths, but I'm getting very frustrated at the recording process. My DAW is Samplitude Pro X and the primary soft synth I use is Garritan Personal Orchestra 4. It works great if I use the MIDI editor to drag and dr...
