Re: Korg Emx1 Help !
just bypassed the fuse in my emx after it blew out today Bypassing the fuse was really a bad idea, if the power supply provides wrong voltage to the components then you might have damaged the DSP or other delicate components. You should have measured the current before the blown fuse in order to ch...

Re: Korg Emx1 Help !
It sounds like a blown fuse. It's a pretty common issue with the ESX and EMX 'tribes. Mine is currently out of commission for the same reason. I'm waiting on the fuse in the mail from Digikey. The original fuses used by Korg on these machines was rated .75A. After many issues, Korg decided the mach...

Re: What make the bits?
As high as possible. Everything under 96 is substandard and unacceptable in the modern world. Listening to 16 bit samples is like having one's ears grated by the not italian people who work at olive garden and consider themselves qualified to dump parmesean cheese on your overly large salad if they ...

Re: Questions on first synth, research done but still have Q's
If you want to make the most of your budget, stay away from new gear. Used gear, so long as it's working doesn't really lose value when you buy it, so if you f**k up and get the wrong thing, recovering the vast majority of your investment by resale is almost always possible, whereas with new gear, i...

Re: Your Favorite Arpeggiator In A Synth?
The nova has a wicked arp. And don't discount the microkorg's either. Do you have any idea if it's possible to trigger the arp from the nova itself without sending a midi message from something else? I tried to get it to do this for around an hour yesterday, but no luck. The manual is not much help...

One should be coming by FedEx today. If it doesn't, I'm killing all of Fred Smith's children. i love the mc5, not sure why you'd kill fred smiths kids though.. Out of uncontrollable rage and unrequited GAS. As Memphis is a FedEx hub, we are usually spoiled with prompt deliveries. I ordered it from ...

Yamaha A-series for flexibility and odd fx, korg electribes simply for ease of use. Samplers become very very creative beasts with continual resampling.

Re: On board effects
Err, my on board effects reviews Good: everything on the EA-1 but the distortion, everything on the ES-1, the delays and non-modulation effects on the nova, the digital delay on my k4 that freaks out when you modulate it. Bad: command station effects, the non-tempo-syncable chorus/phaser on the nova...

Re: .. looking for hardware-sequencer ,.. but which ones best ?
This dual sequencer complement is the best I've come across. Great for all types of music: http://www.snapshotsfoundation.com/music-foundation-photos/jean.guillou-hands.jpg Only two channels? Each one only pentaphonic? Sorry Clavier, but IMO that sequencer sucks a*s. Consider a command station for ...

Re: e-mu Command Stations
IMO, the synth's sound can be kind of lame. I only like a couple of the filter models, and I know I won't be using most of the waves they provide. Programming is amazingly open-ended thanks to the wonderful patch cable system (though I'd still go so far as to complain that they don't give you enough...
