This basically adds MIDI to any keyboard. Takes a bit of work to get this up and running as it's not specifically for the Seil Cruise.

Good call, yes, I guess it could be anything in that circuit?

Re: CASIO CZ-5000 distorted output
I think I know this sound. Kinda gritty, low bit depth effect? Try adjusting the DAC offset. Page 59 of CZ-1 manual (same thing as CZ-5000 in this case). IIRC you have to remove the keyboard to get at this VR.

Re: Emulator II - memory chips
It was probably only one that was bad... Isn't the classic problem with these the IC sockets? Polish every single one. Or replace them.

Re: Make your DAW sound like an analog console
That's a very helpful video thanks. I need to get into Ableton. I stopped using templates like this a while back. I prefer to have a blank slate, it means every piece comes out different. Instead of templates, I have a pile of unfinished ideas organised in folders. I'd usually have about 8 of those ...

Re: Sudden Death - KORG Prophecy
Thanks. You would not necessarily need to replace the pair. Was control resistor the term your friend used?

I don't understand. How can you record notes from a JV-1080? It's a rack synth with no sequencer.

Re: Sudden Death - KORG Prophecy
Are you sure it's a control resistor? Usually that means a voltage divider, so it should have a partner. I'm no expert, just curious and hoping to learn

Great news!
This "control resistor" is that a 10 ohm fusible resistor?

Those are fan made, they don't even have the right notes played. And what about the synth patch files?

Re: Recapping my M1 - PART 2
I think that you might broke a pad while soldering / desoldering caps. Test pcb traces for continuity with the psu powered off. Yes this is what I was going to suggest also. There's a crack right where it says KLM-1269, and the bottom right corner of the PCB is cracked off as well. So a continuity ...

Re: Recapping my M1 - found this...
It's glue. Actual leakage would be dissolving/ corroding the metal leads and the PCB. That's clearly not happening here. You could remove the capacitors and see if they are leaking from the legs, underneath, where you can't currently see. But it would be a waste of time, and you'd have to replace th...

Re: JV 2080 All patches one octave too low
This is just something we all have to put up with. Middle C is not strictly defined for MIDI. It can be C3 or C4. There's a global setting in DP but that will put your "correct" instruments off. https://motu.com/techsupport/technotes/when-i-send-midi-to-machfive-in-digital-performer-it-plays-an-octa...
