Re: What synth have you bought more than once?
For meatballfulton: this is the link that badmister gave me for the plg boards to run in current pc OS's: http://www.yamahasynth.com/jp/downloads/drivers_software/plugin_boards/plg150_an/editor/ just in case - ha ha. (for some reason, it's on the Japan site, but not on the US site). For me, I ...

Re: Alesis Micron vs Akai Miniak
So I know these synths are practically the same and they're basically the same price but I'm still having a hard time deciding between the two. One of my main concerns is that the Akai might not have aftertouch while the Alesis does (can someone confirm or deny this?) Also I want a keyboard that ha...

Most expensive synth I've bought?
Kurzweil K2600.
#2 most expensive was my Andromeda.
#3 most expensive is a 3 way tie - Clavia G2, Access Virus C keyboard, and Access Virus TI desktop - I paid right around $1,750 for each new.

Re: reflections on NOT having an Andromeda
With the whole current price gouging thing, I say if you waited this long to get one, why bother? 1.5 years ago?, you could get one BRAND NEW for $2k, so I laugh at anyone either buying or greedily selling theirs for 3k+, discontinued or not: it's not like they had a short run (of ten years?...

Re: Lots of LFOs
Alesis Fusion has 8 lfo's and 8 envelopes.
Just as important as the number of lfo's though, are the number and type of shapes those lfo's can produce.

Re: who else but novation?
I have the KS rack and enjoy it very much. Excellent synth. I'd also love to have a Nova laptop. Too bad Novation no longer do synths like these. Any problems to report with 'note stealing' or some other notorious problem with the KS(rack) where the mono mode or something becomes 'unusable'. I wond...

Re: Programming tutorials?
Emu makes good manuals. The general programming section at the back of any of the sound module manuals from here should give you a good start. http://www.emu.com/support/legacy.asp Access music had a good programming manual at their site too. Specific examples are for the Virus, but the general prin...

Re: What's your "must have" synth?
Current favorite is the Andromeda.
If I had to limit myself to one board (never
), I'd probably wait for the upcoming Kurzweil PC3KX. From what's available right now, I'd stick with my Kurzweil K2600.

Re: What synth (s) you own but haven't played for over 1 yea
I've got giant piles of gear I haven't used in years. Mostly because they're not worth much compared to what I paid for them. Also, because it's easier to keep them than to sell them.

Re: an alesis micron as midi keyboard for a desktop evolver
Set the Evolver to the same midi channel that the Micron is sending on.
And ya - to hear just the Evolver, turn the Micron volume down.

Re: Stupid or nonsense sentences from your synth's manuals
The Access Virus manual sometimes lapses into German. It might not be stupid or nonsense, but I don't understand it.

Maybe because no one expects anything to come from it anymore?
There's almost always something I like from it though.

VC/TI - Virus Control/Total Integration is for the TI series.
When I bought my B and C units, they came with a disc that had a standalone editing program. Pretty sure it was a Sounddiver adaptation. Maybe it's still available on the Access site?

Re: What would you sell to help fund andromeda, if u were me?
Felis, the funny thing is you would sell half my equipment and it still wouldn't pay for an A6. .... :D Ha ha - it's easy to be ruthless with someone else's gear. No swing on the A6 arp. As comprehensive as it may be, it doesn't do everything. If it did, no one would need anything else. That's the ...
