Re: Arturia Microfreak
You can get these from some retailers for like $270 (e.g., Reverb, via best offer). I was in the market for a very small CV/Gate controller--this has CV/Gate and pressure output, which is rad. I have never been a fan of trad aftertouch, but I do like pad pressure. Plus it comes with a pretty interes...

Re: New Peley Krane FaithState Modular Synthesizer
FYI, this project was some sort of scam. They took a number of orders and it seems that only one actual synth was confirmed delivered. The company (Peley Krane) stopped responding to emails (the website is now also down) they hvae not provided a product or refund to at least two customers (and proba...

Re: New polysynth project - now with 8 voices & bitimbrality
We are (me and two my friends) working on another prototype. The version shown in above demo still isn't suitable for manufacturing - it needs some more mechanical changes, and another PCB revisions. If everything goes well, it will also feature 4 part multi mode (5+1+1+1 or 4xMono). However, I'm s...

Re: New polysynth project - now with 8 voices & bitimbrality
Here's quick photo of prototype with enclosure - final look should be close to that http://wstaw.org/m/2017/09/14/WP_20170904_20_58_49_Pro.jpg To put it into a rack one has to remove wooden sides and put on rack ears instead. The panel is 5U. More photos, demos and hopefully webpage coming soon :-)...

Re: AKAI S900 Fed into VX90 over 13-Pin Interface
The VX-90 is 6 (or 3) voice, whereas the S-900 is 8--I had read somewhere that that can create voice cycling issues somehow. Is that the case at all?

Re: 1986 KORG DS-8... Quite Surprised!
Korg DS-8 is a weird but fun one that can still be had for very cheap. The programming limitations are made up for by the interface and effects. The x8 overdub demo for the DS-8 here is also one of the best demos I think I've ever hear (I genuinely want a full version of this): http://www.deepsonic....

Re: OB-6/Prophet-6/Jupiter 6
I am curious how different the oscillators are in the P-6/OB-6. It strikes me that they are probably really both in terms of sound and tuning rigidity, but would like to hear direct experience.

Re: Synth used in Pacific Symphony by Transformer 2 (1992)
No idea about the strings--would be very curious to know--but I think the filter sweep sound in the beginning is either a Jupiter-6 or an alpha-juno--definitely roland in any case.

Sounds pretty good to me. The tone parameters and simply being able to properly program ALL the sounds pretty make this a no-brainer replacement for the original.

Re: "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Wings Synth?
Can anyone ID the synth or sampler or midis they used in this? Critical for a remix I'm doing right now
A friend sayd they used the Virus midis, but not sure.

I doubt even RDJ could actually program the MS-800.

Re: Would you make this trade?
Microkorg will be a good compliment to the SQ-80. Definitely don't get rid of that one! (One trick for smooth filter sweeps at least is to assign the mod or pitch wheel to filter cutoff.)
