That "shreds" video killed me, hadn't seen that one yet.
I thought Duran Duran used a Jupiter 4 on "Rio?"

Re: Recommendations for eerie/warm analog sounds for psych-f
I second the Deco. I thought it'd be overkill with my el Capistan, but it's perfect for a tiny touch of tape saturation and "movement" on top of a track.

Re: New Aphex Twin track---minipops 67
Just what the doctor ordered! I grew up on Aphex. It always weirded my mom out in high school when I got packages from Warp in GB. Weirded her out even more when she looked at the pictures on the CDs. Consider me totally pumped after the Caustic Window Kickstarter release and this track!

Re: DSI PRO 2
If it sounds like a Prophet 12 you'll want it. At it's worst, with a little digital aliasing through subtle reverb after a touch of delay it adds some great character to a track.zoomtheline wrote:For f**k sake! Why can't it just sound like a Mopho then I know I won't want it.

At least four voices with at least a 20 step ARP (microkorg style) perhaps.

Re: DSI speculation
Don't get me wrong, I love that DSI added a "sequencer" to the Prophet 12 later on, but it's quite, I dunno, clunky. I'd like to see a mono based on the Prophet 12, with a Microbrute style sequencer that has ties and accents. Lose the touch pads but keep their implementation.
