Re: Bass Sound (Janet Jackson, Howard Jones)
The Howard Jones bass sound is a slap bass sound from the Emulator II library. He used that sound extensively on his previous album, "Dream Into Action."
The Janet Jackson bass sound is a layered Yamaha DX7 and Oberheim OB8. Jimmy Jam mentioned so in the Jam/Lewis 1987 Keyboard magazine interview.

Which synths do you need repaired? I know one tech who specializes in analog gear and another who specializes in digital gear.futureshock wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 9:04 pm

Re: Transplanting synthesizer parts
Please don't laugh me off the face of the earth. Has anyone ever transplanted synthesizer parts (oscillators, filters, ADSRs) the way you would do in the medical field? I was looking at the filter on my arp Axxe, it's like a module. Could you just take that off, disconnect the filter of another syn...

Re: Here are disk images for Emulator 1, Fairlight and Emax
I downloaded the Emulator II Factory Library but EMXP can't seem to recognize them -- they don't even have an extension. Am I supposed to rename the files?

Re: Here are disk images for Emulator 1, Fairlight and Emax
I shared these on eiiiforum, but thought it might reach more people here. These discs are hard to find and they shouldn't be! I especially object to people making money out of these. So with HFE and these disc images will re-awaken your Emulator 1. It's fun to convert these in EMXP for use in a mod...

Re: SynthPop for cows?
Me and my classmate had to make a project for our advertising class. Inspired by those people who play music for cows we thought we'd go with some battery powered Korgs. Thought you might enjoy  https://youtu.be/c9lCN-YQmj8?fbclid=IwAR0bLSCy1bjBH8hPjs_n-fkV1m1a6_phc4stKJo-w16xFv8eOY1-mrvE3UE K...

Recommended Synth Repair Sticky?
There are many instances where we can't exactly fix what's broken on our synths due to the lack of adequate tools, parts or expertise. I propose that we have a sticky of recommended shops/techs listed under regions/countries/cities that we can put up so we can all have a good resource of dependable ...

Re: SIX-TRAK battery replacement and still presets will not
It's possible that the old battery might have leaked somewhere and damaged one of the traces or other components on the circuitboard. This was a problem with one of my Alesis synths after changing out the battery. I had someone repair it who examined the circuit board with a microscope and found dam...

Roland Juno 106 - Patches Gone Awry!
I turned on my Juno 106 for the first time in a few months and noticed that my patches sound odd - as if some gremlin came and changed the slider settings of most of the patches and re-saved them. So a string sound would have white noise, or a pad would have an extreme level of LFO pitch modulation....

Re: So what came from NAMM 2019?
I went to the NAMM show last week (Fri-Sun). Neither Behringer nor Moog had booths there at the actual NAMM show. Both of them instead had product premiere events in the Los Angeles area instead. It's always cool to go, but this year was kinda boring, mainly because most of the manufacturers do thei...

Re: Michael Boddicker's DX7 Patch Banks?

I also notice that t...

Re: JV-1010 sound
Hi, I've been out for a long time and got my old gear out of the woodwork again. That's a Roland Ao90-ex and a JV-1010. That's all I have ( no amp ). I've connected the JV1010 to the Roland (midi in-midi out)and it get's it's proper signal so I can control the 1010 using the A90. Now, I use a headp...
