Casio CZ-101 Screen Being Weird/Broken
Hi, I hadn't used my CZ-101 for a long time, and turning it on recently, i found the screen acting in a very weird manner: at first it was displaying numbers and letters scanning very quickly across it, then it stopped displaying anything at all, and now it displays a line of hyphens slowing moving ...

Re: DIN Sync (TR606)
Sorry to drag up an old subject, but the answer to syncing your 707 to a MIDI and DIN sync set-up is that you use it as the master, i.e. set your MPC to receive the MIDI clock source from the 707. It will then act as the master tempo for the 606 and the MPC.

Broken Keys on ESQ-1
Hi. I got annoyed at my ESQ-1 and bashed the keyboard and now the middle C and D keys don't work any more. Anyone have a clue why this would be (apart from the fact that i hit it, and i know i shouldn't have), and how i can maybe go about fixing the problem? Thansk.

The 606 has trigger outputs which can step the 101's arpeggiator or sequencer, but there is no way to hook the 106 up to those others without a converter of some kind. I'd suggest getting a simple MIDI sequencer, such as an Alesis MMT8, and a TR707 rather than a 606, because it has MIDI sync, and st...

It was a Juno 6 actually, not a 60, Larry Heard says so in an interview. Stepped arpeggio to make the off beat pattern. He calls it a Juno 1 in another interview, but probably meant the first Juno to be made, i.e. the 6. What's the point in copying that sound anyway? Can You Feel It is the winner of...

WHERE DID MY POST GO?
I put up a question about my SP12, and now it's disappeared.
WHY?

Why do you want an SP12 to sample a synthesizer? They have very limited capabilities outside of drum sampling, and only 5 seconds sample time. SP12's have 8 outputs, some of which are dynamically filtered, some are clean, and some are of varying degrees of low-pass filter. You should just run a mono...

S1100 No Longer Turns On
Hi, the other day i replaced the backlight in my S1100, and when i put it all back together and pressed Power, i got no response at all, no LED's, nothing, dead to the world. I'm sad. Thing is, i hadn't used it for at least a month before i did this repair, so maybe it were broken already. Does anyo...

I don't know! I guess you could write patterns with these bank changes in them, and switch through the ones with 'muted' sections. I think the banks are pattern specific, so each one can use whatever bank you want, out of the four available that is. It is possible to switch patterns in Pattern Play ...

Tenori-on are really weird. At my friend's shop, he has one of the first display units in England, where I've watched so many people spend 5 bemused minutes pressing away at the buttons before walking off. I don't like how it sounds, very plinky hippy sounds. I guess you can edit them, but it ain't ...

DR550 can only be programmed in real-time, or by stepping through each of the 16 steps and placing the note where you want. It's quite simple to do, as there is a little lcd display that shows what step you're on. If you want a nice cheap X0X style sequencer, get one of the Korg Electribe series, pr...
