Re: Your latest musical purchase
Got a Streichfett the other day, it's really nice. Bigger than I was expecting, I'm so used to Euro sized stuff now. Almost pulled the trigger on an Analog Keys that was at a great price but I stopped myself. Ditto a Mirage for a stupidly low price.

Re: The Future (?) of Access Virus
They had a fairly big booth at Superbooth with a couple of grey TI2s on it.

I'm working on recreating the BPF of one particular SH-5 from MESS in Melbourne that sounds particularly nice.

They're easy fixes for anyone who's competent working on synths, not easy if you're not.ppg_wavecomputer wrote:If it's such an easy fix, why hasn't it been fixed yet?NCChao1268 wrote: [...] both easily fixable. [...]

Re: Thought about synthesizers channel multiplexing
The answer is because synths are designed by engineers. "An optimist will tell you the glass is half-full; the pessimist, half-empty; and the engineer will tell you the glass is twice the size it needs to be" "Any idiot can build a bridge that stands, it takes an engineer to build a bridge that bare...

Re: dead microkorg
Just a note here in case anyone comes across this because they can't find the now obsolete S-8520F33MC voltage regulator, I found an equivalent part with the same footprint. It's the Ricoh R1223N332H-TR-FE just replaced one in a Microkorg here and it's now successfully delivering 3.3V on the digital...

With a midipal you can just chain whatever synths you want together to do this.

Regarding the 2164 failure, here's the mod to do to stop it happening again. It just requires a single diode.

DSI tetra does, depending on which mode you're in.

Try Bitwig. It's a DAW very similar to Ableton Live but runs on Linux (Ubuntu I believe) and has built in synths.

Yep. Prototype isn't fully functional yet, Cenk says they're still working on the hardware but it looks pretty great.

Electron Digitakt

Looks pretty cool, it covers pretty much everything I used to use my octatrack for but is smaller and cheaper. Looking forward to some audio demos.

You really really really really shouldn't put motor oil into the faders, it'll ruin them.

Re: Whoever said the DBX 266XL compressor is bad is lying!
maybe you were just using it the wrong way! when you use it as a parallel compression, with the fastest attack/release setting and you're making dirty boombap beats, this compressor is the dogs danglers! yeah so it was under £100. but it's so disgusting on drums that it's under-rated in my opinion....
