buy an used roland or yamaha workstation... korg piano sucks and the leads are really thin a really good choice would be an Alesis Fusion ( i sold my korg Triton after buying mine) but it isn't a synth for beginners, if you want to use it for metal you should find some good orchestral samples and l...

If you have the possibility to change the source then it's great. Exchange the noise with a sawtooth for instance, and mod an oscillator, and you get a stepped arpeggio following the sawtooth shape. It still samples the sawtooth at the speed you decide, so you get a "staircase" shape that modulates...
