Re: First hardware synth, nova or microkorg possibly?
I gotta shamelessly plug the MS2000. I dont know of any VA modeler where so many have sold theirs, and regretted it, including me. I finally scored a 2000B on eBay after 8 attempts (too many snipe-bots out there making it tough for us human snipes  ) It is a very versatile and deep synth, and T...

Re: getting too caught up in tech
Do you guys ever find you get too caught up in the tech sometimes? Sometimes I find myself spending more time looking at synths, researching synths, building imaginary modular systems in my head, thinking about how I can find money to buy new synths.... etc.. That I get almost lost for creativity w...

Re: Roland Gaia
fiddled with a GAIA at my local GC for about 15 minutes, it was OK, but DEF not a gigging machine with all that plastic. Plus Roland kinda turns my stomach a tad sour for some reason. Wish I could fiddle with an Ultranova, but I dont think there's one in a 1,000 mile radius of where I live. Bu that ...

Re: Synth For Psychedelic Rock?
Anyways, I'm basically looking to do Pink Floyd-esque sounds and other trippy stuff that will work well in a guitar-oriented rock band. I'm not looking for techno/dance sounds. Looking for something with some warmth to it and something than can get aggressive/gritty if need be as well. I appreciate...

Blofeld users where are ye?
been gone for awhile catering to my guitar/bass fetish but have been occasionally lurking, one thing I noticed that for all the pre sale hype and frustration over distribution, there have been no updates to the Blofeld thread(s) for nearly a month. For a new synth this seems unusual. so as I would l...

uh, unfortuately I think yr Fizzy may be a candidate for the graveyard. that OS error message does not bode well. look at Carbon111's link, and open up the bottom to check out the voltage regulator. If it never got replaced, the old one finally gave out and scrambled the dsp--ergo one dead Fiz. when...

The Korg MS2000 is an outstanding beginner's subtractive synth because 1) it sounds great, so y'll be inspired to learn, 2) they're numerous and fairly reasonable used, and 3) unlike the Microkorg, when you tweak and change a value it gives you a graphic representation in the lcd screen, so u learn ...

OP if you want a Ens Fizmo make sure the faulty OEM voltage regulator has been replaced, so U don't drop 400 euros on something that may be dead one morning when U power up. Not good. how much is 400 euros in US dollars? Fizmos that have survived the VR plague are starting to climb back up in price ...
