Re: Oberheim OB8 - Keeps Restarting
I won't be a dodgy key .....
It's a really good idea to recap the power supply on a oberheim these days.
Nevertheless something is interrupting the logic and because I do service these things it could be anything.
Probably start with cleaning all the connectors inside.

Re: Juno 60 Output Low Volume
I work on junos every week and the switch except for being dirty has never been problematic. In these cases you have to follow the signal from source and look for things that don't feel right. Cleaning those connectors is something I alway do on a service. Did you consider the env amount slider. Som...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
An interesting thought is if you were lucky enough to find a juno 60 for 200 e or something and for some reason wanted to sell it would you sell it to a so called poor musician for his valuation or take 1200 e which like it or not is the going rate. I once sold a mini Moog really cheap to a poor mus...

Re: should I get a prophet 6?
I just got one myself and love it. I was originally on the market for the Prophet 10 but settled for the Prophet 6 and I've been recreating a lot of John Carpenter patches on it. It's my main synth for leads while my Sub 37 is more for sequencing. There are a few gripes about it (mostly involving t...

As a proud owner of a prophet 5.....I wouldn't do it.
You can upgrade to 120 with the 3.3 chip....without drilling.

Re: Short rant: Rosen Sound in LA (106 voice fix)
I think the sockets are a very nessersary, I have removed countless Juno at chips and the tracking is very fragile. I see many sad cases from botched attempts on those boards...if you can't solder don't try it. Got 3 in this week for new chips. Top tip.....always remove the deadly foam from the pot ...

How do you go about acquiring this site....if the owner doesn't do anything about this problem it's going to be worthless in the future anyway.

Hey Rob......what's the failure rate of those chips...do you have any statistics on this...?
I have a vested interest....I have over 100 now.
As you might have read I am not a believer in the acetone trick....make me a convert...
