Re: yamaha dx200 tell me about it

IIRC, the DX200 includes Yamaha's FM and AWM engines, which is great; but , I think you can only assign the FM engine to one of the four sequencer tracks with the other three going to the ASM engine. I'm not certain of this, so someone correct me, but if so, it might be a factor the OP would want to...

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

I'd like to see Elektron do their take on a sampler.

A full-featured sampler with all the good sequencer bits from the MD and MnM.

Add in all the good bits from Roland's V-synth, like the time-trip thing.

Yeah. Elektron's V-synth killer, but in a groovebox form-factor. That's what I want.

Re: NEW DSI Tetr4 -4 voices of Mopho In a Box!

Can't help but be a little skeptical here. Who is the other guy? Is it possible he's just some guy who mocked up a proto in his garage, and Dave was just drunk enough to sit for a photo op? And why is the only evidence on Twitter, and is now gone? Of course, Summer NAMM is just around the corner.......

Re: Standalone MIDI-Synced LFO?

I can't think of anything that only does LFO; the only things that come to mind are Moog's CP251, but you'd need a CV-to-MIDI converter to use it, a Sherman Filterbank, but you'd be getting (and paying for) much more than an LFO.

Re: Jomox M-Base 11

I'm curious, particularly with the new metallic-attack parameter, whether the 11 can make weird, non-bass-drum kind of tones? The demos only, (and rightly so), focus on the bass drum capability, and I know it can do some bass guitar tones, but, if it could get weird, for the price, it might also mak...

Re: Alternative controller for Roland MKS-70

The reason the PG-800 goes for daft money these days is because it's really the only editor for the MKS that won't frustrate you (much.) The MKS/JX sysex is notoriously bad, and as such, few editors/templates exist that work well. When I had my MKS-70, I used a Peavey PC1600x and a Mackie Control Un...

Re: Alternative controller for Roland MKS-70

Many or most of the inexpensive MIDI controllers can't send dual-byte sysex strings, they can only send single-byte strings. On some older synths, you can only access certain of its parameters by sending dual-byte sysex strings. Controller companies tend not to clarify this when they claim "fully co...
