MPC1000

I have the MPC-1000 with the alternative JJ OS, and I love it. I put a secondhand 40gig laptop harddrive in, and it has the full 128 mb memory. The pads are allright, but I do detect a slight inconsistency in the reaction to velocity. But since the sensitivity of each pad is separately adjustable, t...

I want blank presets!

Sometimes I make sound from scratch, sometimes I adapt a preset, sometimes I'll just use the preset as it is. A lot of that depends on the synth. On my wavestation, I love programming, but on my XV-3080, i'll adapt a preset or layer them at most. And on my Juno6, it's programming every time for obvi...

and back on-topic, particularly with using a drum machine these days-what's the point? I guess the point is, as we all know, there's something great about old esoteric hardware that can make you work in a different way that staring at a screen might not. And AMEN to that! I can be focused on a drum...

Here i go

Nice thread! Now : Yamaha P-120 stage piano : As a piano player first and foremost, I love you to death. You are friendly to my back, and you never complained when I bumped you into doors and walls, and you never broke down during a bumpy car ride. You've been on all my gigs from the start. Roland X...

older Roland controllers have it

I remember that older Roland controllers have polyphonic aftertouch (the A30-A90 if I remember correctly). I was looking for those because I have a XV module that supports polyphonic aftertouch. But alas, even on ebay those controllers still fetch quite a lot of money (and they show up rarely). And ...

another vote for the darkstar XP2

I also vote for the Darkstar XP2! I bought this as my first hardware synth a couple of years back from ebay, and it is horrible. I kept wondering why I didn't get a decent sound out of it, only useless squeeks and noise. I bought it because Future Music listed this as (and I quote) "a truly underrat...
