Re: Hardware Chord Memorizer?
Thanks for Your replies, guys. I'm afraid my question was not clear enough though... I already have a midi pick up and know how to use it. What I want to be able to do is to play a bass note and have it trigger the whole chord. For example: I play C as a root and the sound module plays C-E-G at once...

Hardware Chord Memorizer?
Hi there,
I need to trigger chords using a bass guitar with a MIDI pickup. Would You suggest anything hardware similar to Logic's chord memorizer to send appriopriate commands to a sound module?
Thanks in advance
Marcin

Any opinions about Yamaha MDP-5 "Pocket Music Sequencer
Hello, I'd like to ask if any of You have experience with this little... err... toy? I know it's really ridiculous compared to what is discussed usually here and even worse it stinks of a karaoke tool... But I guess it would fit in my live set-up as a backing track player. It's more a guitar-oriente...

Reference records database
Hello, I thought it would be useful if we created a list of recordings in different styles which are the most representative, the best sound-wise, the most important for whatever reason or contain sounds all of us should know. I imagine it would be something like this: Genre: so-and-so; artist/produ...

If it has an ON/OFF switch, I assume it's supposed to be turned off when not in use. (Almost) Everything I have has the switch so I always turn it off... ...and unplug the cords. My father used to say that it's off only after it's been unplugged. And while I'm a philosopher and he is an egineer, I t...

You are (just as I am) a few years late: my grandmother and grandfather used to be opera singers. She sang with beautiful lyrical soprano and he had the deepest earthshaking voice I've ever heard... At the moment I'm working on incorporating some of (very few unfortunately) their records into my mus...

As always when it's about FX, I recommend Roger Linn's AdrenaLinn. It's ideally between guitar and synth worlds and I'm sure its features related to the latter will satisfy many of synth-heads. In short: MIDI-synced filter, tremolo, delay effects, built in drum machine, quite a few special FX (in ve...

From the guitarist's standpoint my favourite was a small and simple unit made by Guyatone, Micro Delay MD 2. It sounded so good that the guy I sold it to called me after trying it out just to share his delight and he kept talking about geniuses who invented this stompbox for a pretty long time :) Th...

I really appreciate Your advise, thanks :D I have just uploaded an improved mix, in which I applied some EQ and added another - more punchy and midrangey (thanks, filtermod  ) - bass line. I will also definitely try Your second suggestion and look for a plugin that You described. Do You know i...

IWhile you will never get the sub bass on iPod headphones or cheap speakers...you can still make it sound good with good bass in the frequency range those speakers can handle. Yes, seems obvious. But what's the trick: EQing? Playing an octave higher? Those questions (especially the latter) sound st...

Thats because your iPod headphones and your computer speakers can't reproduce a good sub bass I believe. The notes are not different its just that your ears can't single them out like when you got good monitors. On my Korg MS10 I use a very subby bass sound and if we play at a venue with bad monito...

Sub bass
Hello Everybody, I'd like to ask You for some advice. I made a song (later transformed to a remix of another tune) which features a bass line which is kinda "sub"... I'm not familiar with the style but I think it has a dub flavour to it. What worries me is that it sounds completely different on diff...

Thanks for Your replies. I also thought about Acid and Fruity Loops. But after analysing what would be the most convenient and useful for a drummer, I came to conclusion that it would be something like Korg PadKontrol and its boudled software. Pad controller is an obvious hardware for a percussionis...
