Re: Your latest musical purchase
Scored a Roland RD-1000 and an Ultra Proteus module a couple days ago from a music shop in Manchester, NH.
Ultra Proteus was $49. RD-1000 was $400 with a road case, but they offered it to me for $275. Aside from one or two dead LED's, the piano works great!

Behringer Model D, just before the $30 price increase. The dealer threw in some patch cables as well. Now, to find an inexpensive eurorack case...

I've never seen the phaser model, but there's also a flanger model.

K2000 effects issue
I've a K2000VP, version 3.54J and love the synth. Only issue now is the effects are glitching out. Some patches will just put out a weird hum around 220Hz. I could use it completely dry, but I'd rather fix the issue. I do know that it's either a DOD or Digitech chip.

Re: Your latest musical purchase
Got a DeepMind12 from the Bay for around $750. Amazing synth for the money. Also got a beat-up, but fully-functional DX7 from a thrift store for around $200. The next step was to get my hands on a non-functioning unit, with a good-conditioned chassis and membrane panel, which I did, on Reverb for ar...

I modded mine with a CR123A battery holder. Haven't had any problems with it at all.

Keylab 88. Had it for a few days. Best feeling 88-note controller with a ton of assignable controls on it. Build quality is top notch, too.

Re: Your latest musical purchase
Scored a VFX-SD for $180. Quite a warm, fat sound for a digital synth, not to mention some of the most gorgeous pads I've ever heard!

Re: I have a soft spot for...
Rather interesting video. Makes me want to start collecting these keyboards. They may not be pro-level, but they sure look fun to play around with, especially when running them through various effects, stompboxes, etc.

Yamaha Portasounds, notably the PSS-270. It was one of the first instruments I learned on, back in the late 80's, early 90's.

Re: Korg Trinity Plus
1. EXB-PCM boards work for the Triton only. The only sound expansions for the Trinity are the SOLO-TRI which adds a Prophecy synth engine to the Trinity, however the Trinity Plus aready has that option, and the MOSS-TRI, which is somewhat equivalent to the Z1 synth. 2. I like Syntaur, although other...

Re: Dead u-20 synth
I'd try replacing the power supply first. It may be less costly than a main board replacement.
