I got a polysix after a Juno-106 and never regretted it. In fact, if I could only keep one I'd take the polysix over synths that cost me over five and ten times as much. I just love that filter, plus the arpeggiator, chord memory and lfo's

I would say two filters equal more than the sum of their parts. I'm still experimenting with my recent acquisition of a CS-15, but I am finding that the two parallel filters give you the ability to generate a HUGE variety of sound... far more diverse than a single filter or two filters in sequence. ...

Here's hoping it all collapses in on itself like a big, stupid, pop-culture black hole and sucks all those tight-jeans-and-big-white-sneakers-wearing dorks (from a distance I can't distinguish the young hipsters from the burnt-out, middle-aged heshers anymore; the clever irony only becomes visible ...

Never tried an OB-8 but judging by the samples, I'd trade my Jupiter 6 for one in a second. I think they sound different enough that it shouldn't be too hard to decide even based on sound samples alone.

For me, I just want a lot of knobs to twiddle. A lot of vintage analogs are still cheaper than new analogs and high-end VA's

Could it be the lack of a temperature compensated exponential converter in the MS-20 that gives it a somewhat sterile sound compared to the Moog and ARP? I think that is intentional on Korg's part as the philosophy behind their choice of a linear VCO was to avoid the instabilities associated with t...

Most high end modular manufacturers brag about how "clean" their VCA is. So, in that respect the best VCAs would be the ones you never sonically notice at all.

Like most people I want Roland to re-release the JP-8, fully analogue but with midi for under $2000. Ditto Moog and the Memorymoog+. I'll then complain that they aren't as good as the originals, because they sound is too clean but somehow not three dimensional. Damn well better be multi-timbral :ev...
