Re: New LinnDrum II Design
I was going to mention the move from the dedicated knob/function interface of the 2nd design to the generic 8 faders/16 knobs of the second, but then I thought about the Elektron stuff which has a similar thing with the 8 knobs and everyone says their stuff is great to use. The menus on the Electro...

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
The ethernet cable could just be for HD backup, like it is on the Mackie and Alesis HD recorders. Ah good point - I love the MPC line for its ability to chop phrase samples, layer sounds, the multitude of programming options like real time and grid, rock solid timing, self contained vibe, simple FX...

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
at what point was this presumed not to be similar to a MPC? Why wouldn't it be considering Linn's involvement? What specifically do folks here have against MPC's? I'm just asking as MPC's are standards in a ton of studios and very creative pieces of gear. Even the earlier designs look like they woul...

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
Wow - so much negativity on something we don't know anything about. I can't wait to see all the haters on this thread end up eating their words and buying it once released. I chop samples and miss my MPC - I actually like working on a computer with samples - I would like some analog drum sounds - I ...

Re: Nord Wave, Virus TI, V-Synth...winners and losers
I've owned the V-Synth Xt and currently own the Nord Wave. For me - the Nord Wave is the keeper as the combination of all of it's parts creates an unbelievably expressive instrument with an intuitive interface. It's a workhorse for me as it offers all the synth and rompler sounds in one place - with...

KORG DS-10
The Riddim MEGALionBIT&8U on my pop up virb page is all Korg DS-10 sequenced in the warm summer sun and then arranged in Ableton Live in the evening. Some light reverb and compression. I was going for a underwater zombi chant meets 8BIT massive ragga style inna broken dancehall downtown - and the an...

For me it was listening to the radio show Hearts Of Space out of Berkeley where I first heard Klaus Shultz, Tangerine Dream and Brian Eno. I used to listen to it on my walkman in Jr. Highschool in the middle of the night under my pillow. Then later in college it was the West Coast rave culture in ea...

@Frodo The morphing function is really just a fancy modulation bus - as you are able to attach a great number of functions to the morph destinations (Wheel, Velocity, keyboard or midi ccs). I've not used a joystick with it so I can't say whether it will work - are those 3 or 4 directional joysticks ...

I’ve been eying the Nord Wave since it was first announced and then was devastated once I saw the price. Synth karma must have been on my side this weekend as I found a local seller who was selling his for 2K. I lead off with this comment as the price (due much to the weak dollar) is the number one ...

to me acid is finding a sequencer that can glide and have accents and pairing it with a synth to taste that's inherently limited and then mixing in a bit of random magic. I love my revolution. It took me some time to get into it but totally delivers pounds of acid bass lines with it's great sounding...
